Re: ROMable SMSQ/E
I don't know if following information may help, but I remember when I tried roming smsq/e on my q40 I found that recent smsq/e versions don't work when romed while they start correctly when lrespred. This happens whatever the rom size used or high/low parts. Last version working in rom i found is 3....

Re: From QCDEZE to QCDEZE 2
No objection Duncan. You are surely more qualified than me in this area. My wish is that a such useful utility could run on almost of ql platforms and emulators with a minimum of limitations/restrictions. Sources i supplied are (I think/hope) enough debugged/optimized for the rest and still at dispo...

Re: From QCDEZE to QCDEZE 2
Hi Duncan, Really sorry for having missed your update despite my regular visits to DJW site. Anyway, pleased to know that you could take time to evolve this program. I mailed to you my sources, hoping target address was good. Technical stuff was made very compact and memory efficient but surley not ...

From QCDEZE to QCDEZE 2
Some time ago, I tried amending QCDeze program from Duncan to make it working with QubATA driver for exploring Data CDs. After some investigations, I wanted to enhance functionalities and to have a program working on various QL platforms. So, I decided to write my own program but conserving graphica...

Re: QubATA 3.10 I/O area address
Absolutely but you should use a specific recompiled version of driver otherwise the actual binary will not work even you configure the hardware address within the config block in rext image.
I can supply a new version if you tell a little more about your project & hardware.

Re: QubATA 3.10 I/O area address
In fact, QubATA driver can run from anywhere in memory provided it knows the hardware base address of the controller. This is why the REXT version has to be configured with the hardware address before running. The Romed version copies itself from ROM to RAM and patches on the fly the code image with...

Re: Using big ROMs on Q40
Well, in fact I was going to do a pullup as Peter said, but given that my case switch is already 3 wires and has to be selected once before powering (no transition) I thought that a simple straight switch wiring will be enough. Am I wrong ? Anyway, I will put resistors when I will be able to find ad...

Using big ROMs on Q40
With Peter Graf's indications and some AM27C4096 ships supplied by Derek Stewart, I realized a little circuit permitting to have a global ROM size of 1 MegaBytes on Q40 with 2 bigs OS ROMed together (up to 512KB each) and selectable with a case switch (3 wires, 2 positions) : PIN 39 (A17)--+ O---- V...

Re: Announcement - new QL Interface
...only the MD driver is needed in 128k mode for let original titles that was made for 128k QL's only can works properly. That fix for v2.17c is easy to do (ie. once RAM size found for banner, just return if 128K without adding anything). I'll propose change to MK and see if original author is OK w...

Re: Announcement - new QL Interface
This is what the WIN_REMOVE command does to uninstall the QubATA driver. Unfortunately, the ROM shadow will still there. As this is in the Res procs area, not sure deallocate will help and as general rule, freeing memory under QDOS is not same as not allocating memory at all. I would prefer don't st...
