Re: Knoware.no
Yes the blitter was even outperformed by faster CPUs.

Re: Knoware.no
Eg I agree with what Thierry was trying to explain to you about DMA some time ago. That was not something I needed to get explained, but nonsense. It was about a 68060 and no separate bus between memory and slow peripheral, instructions running fully inside cache. In that case only peripheral speed...

Re: Knoware.no
This may be exactly what some people want, but my argument is that its easier to slow down fast hardware than to speed up slow hardware. So faster hardware covers more bases - with the same effort. Not sure what you mean here. Slower hardware, like just using a medium speed CPU inside FPGA as the Q...

Re: Knoware.no
But thats sort of my point: Why go backwards after 20 years? Dont get me wrong. I think the Q68 is great! Its compact, well- designed and built, and interfaces with modern components, which means it can actually be used occasionally. But there is so much talk of re-creating various forms of the old...

Can be found here: https://qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2805&p=34121&hilit=Stella#p34121 I kind of missed the post, but eventually found that I had the same documents for ages already. The Stella HTML docs lacked a logo file which I attach here. The TTos article is pure gold. I'm ...

Re: A small QL
That's how it is. Standard 2.54 mm pitch. In most cases, it will be sufficient to use the smaller ones on the left (video) and on the right (peripherals).Derek_Stewart wrote:How about using header pins for the connectors, so a wired connection can be made to the physical connector.
Re: Mister QL
Does anyone know what happened to Stella? Did it ever materialise? Did anyone ever get it? There must have been a demo, so not pure vaporware. I saw the last realistic chance for Stella in a hard realtime OS specialized for FPGA. This would have turned the lack of portability, which Stella as an as...

Re: A small QL
I'm not volunteering :) as I'm new to 3D modeling and it takes me ages to get anything done, but probably changing a few dimensions wouldn't be too bad... feel free to send a technical diagram my way if you like and I can give it a quick try. No promises. My problem with providing fixed geometries:...

I have noticed that two articles (TTos.zip and Stella.zip) I posted on the 24th May 2020 have been downloaded over 30 times. Can be found here: https://qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2805&p=34121&hilit=Stella#p34121 I kind of missed the post, but eventually found that I had the same...
