Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

EDITED 17:50 GMT: ... some adjustments that may be necessary to the QLUB firmware as published (v2.1e) relates to the bit-timings, which I modified very slightly to suit the ZX Interface-1 in my later testing. To revert to default QL bit-timings, you could make the following changes to the firmware ...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

Ciao Danielle! It's great to hear that you've started the journey! I'd be very happy to use your setup and trouble-shoot together, if you like? Attached is my own 32-bit bit-wise toolkit - might be worth trying that in place of your own as a first easy step, in case I'm relying on (a quirk in) my ow...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

Hi Tim! Well they say a journey begins with the first step - so I have downloaded the files - thanks for sharing I will begin to gather the needed bits into a the queue of boxes of projects I have, this may however jump that Queue... Good luck! Whilst the instructions may look daunting at first, in ...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

Hi Peter If Wolfgang has no better idea, and you don't find that approach too clumsy anyway, I could also have quick look into writing such a server at least for Linux and Windoze. Would it be better to define a packet format, or just go byte-by-byte? I reckon a byte for byte approach would be prefe...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

Hi Peter Maybe your driver inside the emulator could access a network server (on the host) by UDP or TCP, which then handles the serial port? Not very nice to need an extra server though. That would be trivial enough form within the code written - to open a UDP socket instead of the SER device - but...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

OK, so quite possibly...

If uQLX (or QPC on WINE) is run on the rPi AND if there is a 'USB virtual COM Port' driver available for the rPi AND once I've completed the fully OS integrated version (rather than just the SBASIC app available today), then this could be an option :-)

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

Hi Pete! Possibly - perhaps you could expand your description of the problem you're trying to solve? To hazard a first guess, if the current roadblock is being able to access the files (applications?) on an unexpanded QL due to lack of local modern storage, then yes - if you arrange for the library ...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

Hi again Peter - I missed one of your earlier questions... By the way, do you have any plans to make the adapter collaborate with SMSQmulator, which has no direct support for serial ports? My aim has always been to make the solution as universally applicable as feasible, so once I've gotten a workin...

Re: QLUB Adapter - Initial Release...

Hi folks - thanks for the encouraging words :-) By the way, what is the reason for the 10K resistor? Hi Peter! - That was an early - and naive - decision when I wasn't yet familiar with the microcontroller and wasn't sure about the effect of any input impedance in to the IO pin. It just worked, so I...
