Re: trump card and qubide on a backplane , how ??
Be aware, that if you use a Minerva ROM that also incorporate the TK2 in the cartridge area, you need to disable it (it's already in trump card, anyway). because this area is need for the qbide.

Re: hermes remake or diy solution ( for the classic version )
Yes, you can buy a chip and program it, I'm not sure of the legal status of the firmware, but is available on internet.
The programer, it's also a free design available on internet.

Re: Additional Question cst qdisk interface dead as a doornail
I made some investigation: The file you found in the disk is a "bad dump" of a 1.19 version of the rom. It have the correct scramble of the address bits that use the V4 PCB. the address 0000h is bad, it's 00h and should be 4Ah, with this change the ROM boot (in a emulator) and show the cop...

Re: Any ideas what this unknown expansion card is?
But if you check, it have the 8 sdram 1x256kb chips, 2 multiplexer for the Address line, the 74ls266 for decoding the ROM address, the tipical 7805 + 2 capacitor power part. Certainly not SDRAM, which means Synchronous DRAM, and never existed in DIL packages. ;) Yes, of course, normal dinamic ram, ...

Re: Any ideas what this unknown expansion card is?
I don't think it's just a RAM expansion, but a 256kb + some toolkit in ROM, the "name" of the interface indicate it. Also, I don't think that this card intentionally kill QL. I check the tracks, and the circuit looks very, very standard, I suspect that the fault may be in the 7805 (which c...

Re: Floppy disk and interface compatibility
Also be aware that floppy drive of the 80's (well, the shugart standar) can be used up to 4 at same time (and trump card II support 4 floppy drives), so check the jumpers/configuration of the drive, or check with "dir flp1_" to "dir flp4_"

Re: Any ideas what this unknown expansion card is?
Any ideas what this unknown expansion card is? It killed my blue QL too! It says ROM/RAM V1.3 and the serial number starts with RR Looks like a 256Kb RAM expansion + Rom toolkit (or any other utility in ROM). When you say that it kill you blue QL, you means that not work with it conected or t...

Re: QSound and QPrint Interface
That's what the SPn lines are for - on a multi slot bus - these would increment from one slot to the next as a 4 bit number - when the address lines A17, A16, A15 and A14 match the SPn lines for logic state - the card is selected at that address represented - starting at 0x0C0000 Yes, but to clarif...

Re: QSound and QPrint Interface
Got it working from EPROM by making a couple of changes to hardware. DSL to pin 1 & 2 of 74LS03 (address decode). E to pin 12 & 13 of 74LS03, output pin 11 to pin 4 of 74LS03 (gate VPAL). I can only guess this is what tracks might do under 74LS03, puzzling thing is there would be no pull up...
