I didn't widely publicise this as I wanted it to be some news for the show.

I have added details to the Software section of the forums

Re: Quanta Show and AGM - 16th/17th April 2011

Well, the show this weekend certainly generated quite a lot of excitement - with all the talk of new hardware and projects, the talks were all very interesting and well received (including hopefully, my own!) The talks including discussions and demonstrations of controlling robots with the QL, QL so...

Will your disk be available to download as files for emulator or the real machine?
You need to search for C68 (not C68K) - see

Re: Another QL newbe...

The problem with the microdrives may just be down to cleaning the tape heads, and inspecting : a) the rubber wheel on the left hand side of the drive - is it worn? If so, try turning it upside down - is it too far up or down the metal post it sits on? There should be a small gap underneath it - I pu...

Re: Quanta - the Sinclair QL User Group

It is there, just a blank page. I know they were hoping to have the new website platform for launch at the AGM, but for those who need directions to the AGM this is rather inconvenient, so I will quote the email I circulated in February.. QL Workshop and Quanta AGM 16th /17th April 2011 This year, Q...

Re: Possible Coldfire platform for modern QL?

The main problem we have with developing new hardware and platforms, is not the enthusiasm of the QL community, nor lack of funds, as Quanta, the user group are always willing to consider business plans and offer loan funding. The problem is lack of people who are able to write new drivers for the h...

Re: value miracle super gold card 2

The only way of testing them is to plug them into a working QL and connect up a disk drive to see if you can format a floppy disk, save and load from disk. The best way of connecting them to a working QL is to open the QL case, so you can see the expansion connector inside (beware you may break the ...

Re: value miracle super gold card 2

Are you talking of a Gold Card, or Super Gold Card (there is a big difference in performance). The Gold Card (whether it is 1 or 2) sell for around £110-£150. There is no real difference between Gold Card 1 or 2. A Gold Card has a large heatsink which protrudes from the end of the board and has ju...
