Re: PAN command
On my BBQL with Gold card (Minerva OS), it does pan top 5 lines left (50 pixel cursor line) by 10 pixels.

Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
For the programmer you need no license file. Thanks, I'll register to gain access to file (though why they need personal phone/address is questionable). Thanks for patience in providing helpful pointers/info, it is difficult to know what is relevant/required when you're on the blind side of the sub...

Re: Next Gen QL…
That work wasn't exactly "free". Apple apparently paid with an option into 100 000 of their own shares (roughly 1M$ at that time, roughly 16M$ after emission, roughly 10 Billions today) as an entry fee to PARC. Whether the visit and the investment were connected, is disputable, however. I...

Re: Next Gen QL…
Re: tofro Xerox reference IIRC there was an early documentary on Steve Jobs (CH4?) which pointed out that although Xerox PARC spent a lot of money recruiting bright post-grads to envision what the electronic office would be like (and came up with WIMP environment), they didn't use it themselves but ...

Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
ispLEVER Classic for programming legacy devices, for which a license (no longer free) could be obtained. For what would you want the development tools? I didn't necessarily want the tools, just to be able to upload JEDEC programming to chips. At the time it seemed the only option that appeared avai...

Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
I use a HW-USBN-2A clone to programme the Q68, but there is a possibility of the ispLSI1016 being able to be used with the HW-USBN-2A, with the correct software. Thanks, I had hoped it would work as they are readily/cheaply available. I have a PLCC44 breakout board to I can get at appropriate pins ...

Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
Firstly, the license cost issue affects "ispLever Classic", not "ispLever", which I continue to use for free. Secondly, neither "ispLever" nor "ispLever Classic" are needed or even used for the Qx0 PLDs. I did start looking for pDS Starter but constantly got ...

Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
So after much web searching the last few days it seems if you haven't already got ispLEVER* installed (and can fool free license on an existing installation by rewinding system time) your'e stuck. That is unless you are now prepared to pay for $600 license, the free 12 month license ended around 202...
