Some years ago I was contacted by a solicitor's firm who needed to get the accounts data of an old computer of theirs - they said that it ran under QDOS. However, it wasn't QDOS as we know it, nor was it the 'Quick and DIrty Operating System' which was the precursor to MSDOS - it was a QDOS accounts...

I used to work for a housing association and one of the systems we used to get information about was the QL Housing Information system.

I seem to recall that there was a QDOS property management system as well!

The original D+! example output 131072 at the end

However, the patched version gives 1 (not 3 as stated in the example).

Actually I have a working copy of Dragonhold on microdrive, with a disk backup which still needs the master cartridge from memory.

For some reason, I can't get it to work on q-emulator!

Not sure what the difference is here really - what about Dragonhold and Heart of Gern?

A HD (1.44Mb) drive will work in the same way subject to the above modifications.

However, only the Gold Card and Super Gold Card by Miracle Systems can read/write HD disks.
All of the other disk interfaces will try to format HD disks to DD (720K) which can be very unreliable.
