My original QL was a JM and had a faulty drive 2. I had it replaced under warranty with a JS, lucky me. That one served me well for numerous years with no mdv problems at all.
In addition, I never had any problems with my Spectrum's microdrives either.
Maybe I was lucky!
Cheers,
Norm.

... num = HEX("1234") In the second case the number must be converted and go through the function mechanism (perhaps numerous times) at runtime, while $1234 entered directly in the code is only ever parsed and converted once - namely as you enter the number in your code! I agree, sort of!...

After 24 years of marriage, my wife and I have finally ...... bought a dog! :D When I get time to sleep, and do stuff, I'll get back on the case. Until then, I'm afraid I'm going to be quite qu...

Re: European Floods
Hi Jan,
Good to hear from you.
It's a bit weird to think that we, as a species, have actually fscked the climate. I suspect we will be seeing a lot more of this type of thing for years to come.
Cheers,
Norm.

European Floods
Just wanted to say that I hope that everyone in, or who has friends and/or relatives in, areas affected by the current floodings, hears good news. Hoping everyone is ok.
The images on TV are horrendous.
Stay safe everyone.
Cheers,
Norm.
