Re: My First QL related video. QLWorld Magazine Unboxing.
If only there was a satisfying solution for the flatscreen monitor issue! Re-casing the Q60 would be so much fun. :D I think about this for years, but can't find a good way. Chip replacemend 1024x768 with black bars (existing): Very clear display, no interpolation on 1024x768 monitors, supports most...

Re: Issue 8 discussions...
Another thought: Will the sockets for the main QL ICs be at their original place? For retro purism (the only reason why I want Issue 8) it would be important that traditional internal add-ons fit nicely. At least all Minverva and (Super)Hermes variants, QIMI, QL-SD. Personally, I'd also like the 680...

Re: Issue 8 discussions...
This means the CPU never has to wait for video to be drawn, and it also separates the CPU clock from the 8301 clock. I'm sure you are aware this can easily cause flicker, and working out synchronization methods. Still my opinion as one of your hopeful cutomers: I have zero interest in speed improve...

Re: Issue 8 discussions...
That said, most users have a solution to view the normal 8301 output - for now. So the idea is to have the 8301 specific circuits (including 8301) on a small daughterboard that can be replaced by a VGA version when the time comes. Can an extra PCB be avoided when the 8301 is used? I'd prefer a sing...

Re: Issue 8 discussions...
Given that VGA is getting rare now you might as well go the whole hog and create an HDMI output. You could probably build a stripped down version of the OSSC, which is open source so all the circuit diagrams etc. are available, and incorporate that into a daughter board. Although I'm not sure VGA s...

Re: ZX-TEAM Meeting 2018 Mahlerts, Germany
Are these new network facilities now available to Q68 users? The TCP/IP and ethernet software is just experimental and no public release planned yet. For QLNET I'd be optimistic to reach a wider audience quite soon. Since it requires hardware tinkering, some details like the recommended position fo...

Re: QLAN-USB Adapter - working prototype...
After some good experiences with the Q68 as a bridge between QLNET and SERNET:
Could it simplify things, if the adaptor acted as a bridge to SERNET, using the existing SERNET driver on emulator side?

Re: ZX-TEAM Meeting 2018 Mahlerts, Germany
I have been looking all over for a modern, available, economical case like the Q60 case. Modern compact cases often lack the external 3.5" bay for floppy. I was considering a case like Q68, just larger, with custom front/back panel, and a slot adaptor so cards can go horizontal. For just Multi...

Re: ZX-TEAM Meeting 2018 Mahlerts, Germany
What a great event! Looking forward for 2019. Urs, by the way the "buffer full" issue you noticed during file upload is already fixed. QLwIP advertised a TCP receive window that was too large - which caused the PC to send more data at once than the CP2200 ethernet controller of the Q68 co...

The QL was also present in 2019, remembering 35 years QL and 20 years Q60: mahlerts2019_q60_q68_ql.jpg Demonstrated were three generations of QL mainboards: Original, Q60 and Q68. All three had some highlights to show: Original QL using the QLWA filesystem on QL-SD Q60 booting SMSQ/E directly from 2...
