Re: Random hardware ideas!

Out of curiosity: What is the advantage of this much larger solution over QL-SD, which is also Qubide on SDHC card, just as container in FAT32, not raw? Only the more mature driver? Yeah, no big advantage, I was just late to the QL-SD party and they are no longer being sold anywhere as far as I can...

Re: Random hardware ideas!

Hi guys, Dave do you have any more backplanes available? I have an old Gold Card and the modern QubIDE without a passthrough - I'm presuming with your backplane I'd be able to attach both at one, allowing for simultaneous floppy and hard disk action!? Or would it be too tight with the GC? I can mak...

Re: Getting hold of a SCART to HDMI that works properly

Hi Martyn, yes, that one looked identical to the device in Dilwyn's guide so I was hopeful it would do the job. I've tried on fairly modern Samsung and Panasonic LCD TVs and also an old VGA monitor (via a little device meant for a Raspberry Pi that converted the HDMI to VGA) all with the same result...

Getting hold of a SCART to HDMI that works properly

Hi guys, In my 'getting back into the QL' adventure to date, one of the things I have had trouble with is finding a SCART to HDMI box that actually works properly (while using the QL RGB to SCART cable from eBay of course) - I tried a stack of them from Amazon and every single one has either not amp...

WiFi232 device - usable on QL?

Hi all, Noticed an interesting piece on Lazy Game Reviews about a little device which can be used to connect old computers to BBS systems by essentially emulating a Hayes compatible dial-up modem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsS0E4G310Y The website for the device is here: http://biosrhythm.com/?...

Re: Hello from Hampshire

Hi Tim, Belated thanks for your advice, which I have now taken as regards the Maplin drive cleaners. My local shop didn't have any but were able to transfer one from another store. I've been busy with other stuff lately so I'm yet to try it out, but hopefully it will help! Noticed that QUBIDE clone ...

Re: QL upgrade versus Q68

Love the idea of a expansion version, even if the QL doesn't end up doing much itself, it would be cool for it to be working in amongst the old hardware :)
