Re: Testing Tetroid backplane and GC
Ah, good to hear! Sounds like updating the ROM should hopefully be all I need then. Thanks Dave

Re: Testing Tetroid backplane and GC
(...I checked that Toolkit II issue again and it seems to be ok now, typing tk2_ext gives the expected response. It must have been a conflict with other hardware when it wasn't working previously. It still doesn't mention it on the boot screen, but as far as I know, that could be normal...)

Re: Testing Tetroid backplane and GC
Additional info: my Gold Card doesn't work on the backplane with buffers, ROM 2.49. Is yours a version 1, Dave? Seeing as you have the latest ROM and it still isn't working for you, I'm just trying to judge the likelihood of this being the sole issue preventing my V3 card from working with the back...

Re: Testing Tetroid backplane and GC
Hi Tetroid,
Thanks for getting back to me about this, I will have a look at the ROM version when I get home tonight.
If it is the ROM that is the issue, how might I get it updated? Would someone be able to sell me an updated one?
Cheers,
Doug

Re: CTL plug type
I'd like to give it a try, I will look out for those!
Here's a question - are there any QL games which actually support 2 joysticks in CTL1 and CTL2? i.e. Would there by any point acquiring 2 such cables??

Re: Testing Tetroid backplane and GC
Do you have a disk drive built into the PC or a USB disk drive - as they are very different beasts (the latter has no disk controller). Hi Rich, yes I was using my old Tiny PC of early 00s vintage, which has a floppy built in, but it isn't doing well so far with my existing floppies I am stuck with...

Re: Testing Tetroid backplane and GC
So, the trumpcard rom chip is a 32K device, with approximately one half being the disk driver and other driver support software, and the other half being the toolkit II. I say approximately half, because some of the TK II images are actually larger than 16Kb. From my understanding of the ROM scan l...

Re: CTL plug type
That is a good find - I will give them a ring tomorrow - the phone line is still valid - it looks as though they upgraded to PHP 7 without updating the code on the site :( Ah yes, classic. I wonder if the host updated the PHP automatically, an no one running the website has noticed! Did you h...
