There is a turn-based car battle game called "Car Wars" from Steve Jackson Games. You could do a very modified version of that game, using some of the game mechanics.

Re: What Editor is best to use ?
I've been using QED for many, many years and I've not heard of the issue that you are seeing. When it first starts, it will query for a file name. If I type it in, it will read it and allow me to edit. Perhaps there is an issue with the location of the file that you are trying to edit. Could you be ...

Re: Sinclair QL BOOK
I've got the book, but I'm not sure I want to sell it. Is there a particular section that you are looking for?

Re: Okoloko Engineering Software
I read a lot of the US QL and T/S publications in the 1990's and even I did not hear about this software at the time. IIRC, Emsoft sold their software. Since they were from Michigan, Don Impelizzeri (who is/was in Detroit) might have heard about them. Don might still be around.

Re: Q68 New users and general usage thread
For getting access of my floppies, I use dd to create a floppy image on the hard drive. SMSQmulator will mount this image like a QXL file and I have access to the data I need. I don't write to the floppies (as they are old enough to be in college). No need for any paleo tools.

Re: Raspberry Pi emulator state of play...
I've always thought that the right response to the phrase "Why doesn't someone..." is "Yes, why don't you". I don't have a Pi and would not get one as I already have a couple of laptops that probably run much faster than a Pi, so it will run SMSQmulator and uQLx much faster than ...

Re: What does...make QL...the QL?
As a user of the ZX81 and T/S 2068, I was a Sinclair fan and someone that liked a lot of bang for the buck. When I bought my QL in April 1986, I was able to get a 128K system with two drives for $300. The Commodore 128 (which a friend had) was the same price, but only had one disk drive and it was s...

Re: C1 Pascal
Dilwyn, I've got C1 Pascal to run on Q-emulator. I don't think I've gotten it work on UQLX. C1 Pascal does have a nice front end for editing and compiling, but it is a bit limiting. For Pascal, I think I'd stick with Prospero ProPascal. IIRC I got it working with UQLX. I did some write ups on this i...
