Re: Hello from Austria!

Hi Dave, I could not find in article any mention of the sale of the Q40... but the reason for asking was that I had to repair the Q40 board, due some sloppy construction (by Qbranch probably) there was some internal tracks in the inner power layer that had become broken. This is usually overheating ...

Re: Hello from Austria!

Hi Anton,

Nice to hear from you again, I always liked the Amiga hardware, but the Operating System was not very good. The QL has a better operating System, in my opinion.

Does your Q40 still work OK.

Re: Sinclair QL Case Top with Blanking Plate

Hi, Is the source code to Superhermes driver software going to be open source. The Superhermes SER3 driver does not not support split baud rates and so can not work with SerNET, which on a BBQL, limits the SerNET connection to 9600 Baud for a stable connection. The use of 19200 Baud, in my experienc...

Re: QPC1 - FREE?

I have a couple of old P3 Laptops, that are too slow to run Windows XP/7, but with MSDOS and QPC1 would a nice portable system.

I will bring these laptops to the Quanta AGM to be sold for £5 each.

I have other faster Laptops that can run QPC2 available for rock bottom prices.

Re: Gold Card Mystery

Hi,

How about a new up to date Altera EP1810 replacement.

This would mean a decode of the Gold Card Logic... :P

Re: QPC1 - FREE?

Hi, The last I remember Marcel saying he was not developing QPC1 any further. I have a couple of old P3 laptops that are too slow for Windows XP, so I have installed them with DOS and QPC1. QPC1 is a standard QL with 4 or 8 colours depending on the Screen mode. There is no DOS device, but connecting...

Re: How to feed parameters to unzip.....

Hi, Why not just type: EX unzip or EX unzip;'-h' will bring up the help screen. If you want to redirect the ouput of the screen to a specific channel, say SCR_ (#1) EX unzip,#1;'-h' Will redirect the UNZIP dialog windows to channel #1 or you could open the channel to a file and capture the scree oup...

Re: SMSQ/E for the QL?

Hi, The part about the CPU was a question, but the second part about the integrated Extended Environment (EE) was a statement. The EE can not be removed from SMSQ/E, which means that softwre that can not run has no real hope of function under SMS/E. Unless there is a compatiability mode. Which to my...

Re: SMSQ/E for the QL?

Hi Nasta, If a 68040/060 CPU were put into the QL, would this cause any problems with the current hardware. With regards to SMSQ\E for a standard QL, I would vote to use Minerva, as it does not have the PTR\WMAN\HOTKEY system pre-loaded and more developement of a WIMP system could be performed witho...
