Re: QLAN-USB Adapter - working prototype...

A little update for those following this project... On-going progress is being made with the interfacing between the microcontroller and SMSQ/E (to add-back the native NET and FSERVE/Nx_ device drivers) - should have more to report in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, mostly out of curiosity, I picked-...

Re: Network Access Server - NAServe

Very nice piece of software, Martin - thank you!

With more new-old users coming back to the original QL, I reckon the native networking of the QL will start to get more use :-)

Re: Q68 New users and general usage thread

Hi Jean-Yves

Yes, that looks right - positive polarity in the centre/inside (curiously referred to as the 'tip') of the 2.1mm (inner diameter) x 5.5mm (outer) barrel at 5V/1A.

Good luck.

Re: Q68 New users and general usage thread

Hi Sparrowhawk

As regards power-supply - I am using a regular USB-type 'wall-wart' supply that can supply up to 1A, but I hacked the mini-USB end off and soldered-on the 2.1mm plug (+5V to the inner conductor) - which are pretty standard and easy to get a-hold of.

Re: Gold Card / Super Gold Card ROM patching...

Hi PrOf Just a slight correction... serial transmission is done by the CPU and is bit banged, using a couple of bits in one of the zx8302 registers. Whilst quite a bit of preparation seems to take place before QDOS writes to the 8302 for SERial transmission, the actual transfer is byte orientated (t...

Will you give us any clues?

Can't wait :-)

Re: Wanted - Microdrive CASE

Glad you got it, Whopper. Yes, I paid around 40-quid for mine (albeit, with a working MDV unit.) If you don't get the extension cable with it (I don't remember seeing one in the listing), then take a look at the the Spectrum section of SMR for some cables sold by Rich/RWAP: https://www.sellmyretro.c...

Re: Wanted - Microdrive CASE

Hi Whopper

I recently saw the following ZX MDV (non working) on Sell My Retro and thought of buying it, but as I already bought one for my vDrive, thought to leave it for someone else to enjoy!

Good luck!
