Implement command history
And here's the second question that I've been thinking about. Does anyone know of anything that implements a command history? I'm thinking of a Unix/DOS type shell where you could press up and down arrow to work through the last few commands entered. I imagine you possibly can't get do this but if t...

Redirect/reprogram a keypress?
Here's the first of 2 questions tonight (sorry) - I suspect they will both be shot down instantly but if you don't ask, you never know... :-) My physical QL has a replacement keyboard membrane, but for one reason or another the operation of Ctrl+left cursor together is very hit and miss. You have to...

Re: Suitable floppy drive(s) for a Trump-compatible card
it is still possible to short-circuit something on the underside. good point! Good idea regarding the sheet, too. So with 2 drives, your PS should be able to supply at least 2A on the 5V line. ah, that sounds like it's the kind of PS that the Raspberry Pi needs - I do have a few beefier 5v wall war...

Re: Suitable floppy drive(s) for a Trump-compatible card
Cracked it! Thanks everyone for your kind help. My interface came from Russia today, I plugged it in (wow - ram upgrade! toolkit 2 onboard! hurrah) and immediately started on the floppy drive side of things. I opened up one of the Sony drives, found the zero-ohm 'jumper' that was 'drive select 1', r...

Ooh, it looks quite atmospheric. Thumbs up - could be my first 'floppy' purchase

Re: Suitable floppy drive(s) for a Trump-compatible card
What is the make and model number / type of your drives? Hi Mark, they're both Sony MPF920s, dated July 2009 although given how cheap you can get 'standard' PC floppies on eBay I'm not above buying a brace of something else if that would make life easier. There are no jumpers but a couple of visibl...

Re: Suitable floppy drive(s) for a Trump-compatible card
I think Haemogoblin on this Forum found it hard going with a single drive, but I'm not sure if he had a ramdisk on his interface. Hah, I remember writing software on an expanded Amiga A500 with just single drive when my external floppy broke. Quite frustrating. I can imagine what it will be like! H...

Re: UK Voted to Leave the EU
To be fair politicians have a history of lying to get votes  I voted remain, after nearly being persuaded to vote leave by friends and family, so I can see this from all sides (I agreed and disagreed with things said by both sides). Me too - I was a remainer in what felt like a sea of leavers....

Re: Suitable floppy drive(s) for a Trump-compatible card
Thanks for all the help and advice - I think I'm trying to run before I can walk here, then. To keep it simple, if I took my (arriving any day now, hopefully) trump card clone, and plugged into it a straight 34-pin IDC cable (connector each end, no twists etc), and then put a standard PC floppy on t...
