Re: Q68 Order Process
Hi, I'm enquiring about the prices of Q68 case kits for the next batch that you intend to build. Hi Martin, I have built and sold most of the current batch of Q68, so next batch currenyly not planned. I did not consider a kit for a Q68 case. The problem is, some Q68 PCBs do not have an expansion po...

Re: Sinclair RF signal
I had a quick look at your video, and I was wondering if it's something to do with the timings of the video signals. The QL overscans the picture, and the ZX81 has the white border, Which may be confusing the USB stick if it's looking for a black level on the front or back porch area. But the ZX81 i...

Re: Sinclair RF signal
Doe's the Amiga 600 use the same kind of modulator as the Sinclair's. I was wondering if it's some kind of beat between the oscillators in the modulator and the tuner in the USB stick. I don't think the modulators used by Sinclair were particularly good quality. So maybe you need a filter of some ki...

Re: Q68 support thread
Thanks for the suggestions. I might give GParted a look. But I have something of a love hate relationship with Linux. It loves to hate me. Over the years I've tried getting into Linux a number of times, But I have never managed to get a Linux to install and work properly. I view getting the Linux in...

Re: Q68 support thread
Thanks for the suggestions. It was a little while ago that I last tried. And I can't remember off hand exactly what I had and had not tried. But I'm sure I had been in disk management. I have also been in a disk management from the DOS prompt, following some instructions I found online on how to par...

While on the subject of SD cards. Can Windows read the FAT16 partitions? I've tried XP, 7, 8.1, and 10. And they just ignore the FAT16 partitions. The only thing I have that reads them is a Linux box. How do you make FAT16 partitions on an SD card in Windows 10? I've tried some things I found online...

Here's a document I made detailing the Microdrive image file formats. I can't remember if I've uploaded this in the past.

Re: New mdv discovery - QL Expert (an expert system shell)
CONVERT2_MDI "win1_exper2_mdv" to "mdi1_QLEXPERT_MDI" I take it you meant "win1_QLEXPERT_MDI", Otherwise it looks like your trying to create a MDI file inside an MDI file. pjw, The MDIConvert2_bas program is probably way out of date now. It's best to use the built in c...

Re: New mdv discovery - QL Expert (an expert system shell)
The QLAY image format is the closest to an actual microdrive cartridge. It contains all the preamble and inter sector data that is hidden from the user. I don't think QLAY images work in the unregistered Qemulator. The Qemulator/Mdump format has a special header (that starts with 'Mdv*Dump') that ho...
