Re: System Variables - what are the rules...

so that begs the question, why are there 2 pointers in the system variables for serial receive queues for ser1 and ser2? These are for the internal SER ports, and are handled by the internal interface and transmit interrupt handler. This handler also expects the transmit queues to start at fixed of...

Re: SOS

At a guess, the monitor has blown the 8301 or 8302 - can you try it on a TV output just to see what image you are getting? If the monitor is connected via composite video, there is no direct connection to the 8301. He could try connecting the monitor to the monochrome signal to rule out a defect 13...

Dave wrote:I have his github bookmarked - there's no serial driver there. He does use an 8255 in his EPROMmer, but that isn't directly applicable.
The SER3 driver source is now at https://github.com/janbredenbeek/QL/blo ... M/ser3.asm - have fun with it.

Re: Stuart Honeyball

I was present at the launch of the Gold card at the Horticultural Halls at Victoria and remember well the buzz about it at that event. Can you remember when that was? Would be very early 90's. Possibly the last ever Traditional Microfair at that venue. They moved to Sandown racecourse I think after...

Re: Stuart Honeyball

Very sad news :(

He and his colleagues came to Eindhoven many times, sometimes even on folding bikes backpacked full of Gold Cards.

My condolences to his family, the QL community will remember him forever as the Miracle guy who gave the QL a second life...

I've been on FTTH for 8 years now, can get 500/500 if I want to but currently have 80/80. I don't need such a fast line :D

Re: Hello from Dorset

I seem to recall having nothing but problems with the Astracom modem (Updated Hayes command version) I replaced it with a Amstrad V22bis modem on the Qconnects RS232 port I seem to recall. Then came the Courier HST modems. Well in those days I bought a new modem almost every year to keep up with ev...

Re: Hello from Dorset

The name was QSPIL (QBOX Serial Port Interface Layer, I mostly stole it from FOSSIL ;) ). Yes I remember that now you remind me. I wrote a version for one modem which I now cannot remember. I also used a version written for me by Jonathan Hudson which drove the Tandata QConnect i/f. His QTPI termin...

Re: Hello from Dorset

Jan as a novice back then at 68k assembler I was pretty proud that I managed to create a working driver for my setup with QBOX. I forget what you called your driver, but it was my first attempt at 68k, quite different to the Z80 assembler I was used to. The name was QSPIL (QBOX Serial Port Interfac...
