Per,
that's right. None of the QL operating systems (or windowing systems, for that matter) is designed to be able to change display resolutions on the fly.
It might work if you close all windows first, but there's no guarantee.

Re: COPYRIGHT
In a nutshell: In most countries of the world, it is simply not possible to register a patent on a pure algorithm. Most legislations consider algorithms ideas that cannot be patented (just like mathematic formulas, imagine Phytagoras of Samos would have patented his famous theorem, Bubble Sort, Bres...

And that is, along with SuperHermes and QIMI (which are both hard to come by these days) probably the most standard way to connect a mouse.afx wrote: I use SerMouse.

Re: Hating on my Q68...
But wow, QL desktops are stuck in the past! Well, what did you expect? There's 20 years of development in modern Macs and Windows systems. They ought to handle differently than a QL system. A modern Mac or Windows PC has one (or maybe two) way of doing things. For the same action, a QL has probably...

Peter,
assumed you'd be updating the Q60, what sort of bus system do you have in mind?
ISA? Those cards are increasingly hard to come by (for serial, for example)
Something else?
Nothing? (All on a board)

Re: 68060 based QL system?
You easily pay over 500 € to actually get a fast Vampire accelerator Mine (that I have in the Amiga 600) cost €285 to my desk in Germany [*]If you look at anything that was available , the factor was 1.2, not 3, versus Amiga 68060 accelerators. I doubt it would be any faster than a QL-specific 6806...

Re: 68060 based QL system?
How realistic is a QL system that would provide a sort of QL base board for Amiga/Atari ST-based Vampire/Apollo accelerators (http://www.apollo-accelerators.com)? They claim to be 3 to for times faster than a 68060. The board is a memory/(FPGA-)CPU/HDMI/SD board for Amigas and STs. A bit hard to com...

Norman,
At least Metacomco Pascal has been released into the open thanks to an initiative of Urs König. All the files (including the PRL, which is in ROM) are part of QL/E, Urs's QDOSSMSQ distribution. I'd propose you pick it from there.

Re: C68Port - A (LONG!) proposal
C68 does support ANSI C (and thus, C++-like comments) if you compile with
The preprocessor does, however, sometimes have its problems with that.
