Re: My two QLs' serial numbers ?
The second QL is definitely a fairly late issue QL motherboard (issue 7 maybe?). Cases do seem to get swapped - remember that Sinclair had a general recall on the early DONGLE QLs, and owners received a new QL in exchange (it was quite rare for them to receive their earlier QL back it would appear)....

Re: QL Joystick Adaptor
I did have a tube of the BT connectors passed to me by Quanta, but they soon sold out!

QL Joystick Adaptor
Does anyone have a QL joystick adaptor (9 pin D to BT plug) which they could lend to me please. If you have an adaptor, please check that it is for a joystick, as the ones for the serial ports are more common (but are upside down!) I have a little oddity here I wish to try on the QL, but unfortunate...

Re: Software incompatibilies?
So far as I know the Sandy SuperQBoard has the full Toolkit II built into it, so you should not need the Toolkit II EPROM at the same time. If there are commands missing (ie. the SuperQBoard has a subset of Toolkit II), then it should be possible for both to co-exist, although TK2_EXT would be neede...

Re: Post here every time you get something QL based!
Sounds good to me - As for disks etc, I have just basically copied them over so that disks and microdrives will work from within q-emulator, as that seems the best option for running and testing old software. There is a tool I have for making microdrive images - however, the issue is that so many no...

Re: Post here every time you get something QL based!
Well I would love to have more help in preserving the software and details on the Wiki - I have been asking for help for a couple of years, but with very limited success. I did suggest to Quanta that they help fund the software preservation site (about 3 years ago now), but alas they turned me down....

Hope you can save the files from this for preservation (although Tom Dolezal of Talent is sending me a master cartridge from this) - I could also do with scans of the inlay please for the QL Wiki.

Re: Microdrives, QL floppies and DOS floppies ?
The issue is that Windows XP and Windows 7 lack any real built in support for 720K floppy disk drives, although it is still available through DOS. I have had mixed results in reading / writing DD disk drives with an external USB floppy disk drive - the main issue is that you cannot load replacement ...

Re: Kempston Micro Disk QL Interface
It is a good one - needs someone to take a picture for the QL Wiki if you win it!!
My guess is that the missing chip is the WD-1770 disk controller, as there is no sign of one!
