I was thinking about having a mono out Jack like a Spectrum so I can connect it with an amp or TV speaker. I know this is a really noob question but.....
Can I get sound externally other than the inbuilt beeper?

Both of my QLs have now arrived and both have no video. I was going to send them to Ian Gledhill after a quick play, but that is now needed sooner rather than later. But at least they will then both work.
