Re: Super Gold Card + Scart

Their cables already include the resistor for the RGB lines which are also TTL level. I assume your TV/Monitor just happens to have high impedance inputs!

Re: Super Gold Card + Scart

You were spot on!

Soldered a 330 Ohm inside the SCART plug and its all sorted. I shall email RCS and tell them about the issue and hopefully they can fix that for future purchasers!

Super Gold Card + Scart

Ok this is an odd one. Recently got a SGC from RWAP which seems to be working fine, when using UHF output I see SGC initialization message and can do typical "Hello World". When I use the SCART cable from Retro Computer Shack the QL will not "boot" with the SGC card in. It works ...

Re: GBS-8220 RGB TO VGA Converter

Did anyone having issues with sync add resistors as I suggested in an earlier post?

Since adding these the sync has been 100% rock solid for me.

I took the value from here

Re: GBS-8220 RGB TO VGA Converter

I have got the GBS-8220 board but I have the same sync problems discussed above. After some investigations, I have discovered that this board is unable to manage the PAL standard video signal with 50Hz vertical sync but only the NTSC 60Hz vertical sync. Odd I use mine successfully with Spectrum +3,...

Image

The picture shows the business end of the lead. As far as I can tell all three connectors are wired together directly anyway.

Re: GBS-8220 RGB TO VGA Converter

Follow up on this, I have improved the picture on my setup more. I created a DIN->VGA cable specially for the QL and I used the resistor values listed here http://www.fruitcake.plus.com/Sinclair/Spectrum128/SCARTCable/Spectrum128SCARTCableQL.htm To bring the TTL levels of the QL down to SCART compat...

Re: GBS-8220 RGB TO VGA Converter

I have just received my adapter and had a play with it. It seems to "jump" when the RGB values are turned down a bit too much, I just turned the adjusters a little anti clockwise and it stopped it jumping. Also found waiting for it to settle then hitting "auto" made the picture a...
