Re: Z80 emulation?
Your is a very good question and there is probably no absolute answer, just a number of theories. To understand the QL, I think you need to start with the Spectrum. The Spectrum had a lot wrong with it (especially the dead-flesh keyboard) but its forte was a cheap price and a good spec, Z80 processo...

Re: Sinclair User
Computing Today was another. I took that and PCW in the early computing years - gave up when IBM PCs and the millions of look-alikes took over. From what I recall, though, there was never much about the QL apart from release reviews, minor coverage of new ROM releases and a bit on peripherals. That ...

Re: CST Thor 1
Just some advice from problems I have found from powder coating motorcycle frames. Watch out for anything earthing through the box. You might need to scratch off the powder coating around the screw holes to get a good earth connection. Great improvement though, better than when it left the factory. ...

Re: QLiberator questions
Hi, not a solution but where did you get QLiberator from? I use Supercharge as it was easily available but when I used my QL in the 80s I was a QLiberator fan and have been keen to find a copy. They just don't seem to come up very often.

Re: Anyone recognise this?
Yes. I assumed it was an unresolved link when laying out the board. I can get the same issue on very small boards with address and data buses as it is quite a lot of tracks. The wire is very thin though, I use a link used on breadboards as you can make them to shape so they lie nicely along the boar...

Re: Anyone recognise this?
Thanks for the info. So was the card built for the demo software or the demo software utilise the existing card? It just seems a very strange add-on for the QL!

Anyone recognise this?
Hi, I have been trying to find out about a board in my collection. It is marked CCL C2389.001A. The 001A seems to indicate an early prototype as does the twisted wire to remove it from the QL! It appears to be a 4 slot ROM expansion with just a simple circuit to provide stable 5V to the board fed fr...

Re: AT Keyboard Interface on ebay
Hi Derek,
If of any use, I have a CST RAM expander. Not sure of RAm size. It says Issue 3. Just after a reasonable offer to go to a good home. I can take a photo of the actual PCB if it helps?
I also have a Q-connect, Q-mod and Q-call stack. Never used so no idea if it might work or not.
