Re: The forum is nine (yes nine!) years old today!
Nine years  But it still seems all new. I must be getting old, as it still feels like I only joined a couple of years ago, but in fact I joined in December 2011. :D Happy Birthday QL Forum :D As of this post, there are a total of 29838 posts, a total of 3000 topics and a total of 623 members....

Re: QL vs BBC vs Amstrad 464
The trouble is, we don’t know the exact set of benchmarks that were used. I’m guessing that this was all the standard benchmarks rolled into one program. The whole point was to run the same program on each machine. So they were all likely using floating point variables. As that is the most common ty...

Re: Welsh Meters
He he, nice one guys. But be careful - we know to our cost in Wales that Google translate is responsible for producing some of the worst and most confusing road signs here in Wales, in fact there's a whole Facebook group dedicated to Arwyddion Cymraeg Gwael (Poor Welsh Signs) where the words in a s...

Re: Asymmetric multiprocessing...
So, just out of interest, what term or name do the QL community use to describe the original Sinclair QL which after all already has two processors as standard (the main 68008 and the IPC/Intel 8049 microcontroller)? To be fair, the IPC and 8049 can not be reprogrammed by the system, cannot run use...

Re: Asymmetric multiprocessing...
@Nasta I have never said that a system using dual port RAM should not be considered. In fact shared memory systems have been around for a long time. They just used very careful control and timing as years ago dual port RAM was very expensive. Various 1980s computers either use shared memory for IO d...

So, just out of interest, what term or name do the QL community use to describe the original Sinclair QL which after all already has two processors as standard (the main 68008 and the IPC/Intel 8049 microcontroller)? If an intelligent internet interface system is added, it would then have three proc...
