Re: Extended expansion connector...
I might add that I had actually considered designing a video converter chip using these signals. I was only hindered by lack of time and higher importance of other QL projects. Compared to a full video controller, using these signals does not require data and address lines, so there is much less 5V ...

Re: SDHC adaptors...
The cable should not be too bad, because every second line is ground, which allows defined impedance. However, SDHC cards differ in driver strength, so I really have no idea which length is possible.

Re: SDHC adaptors...
[...] although it would be interesting to see whether an Aurora may impact on this at all. I'm also curious, because the Aurora offers much better signal quality than the QL mainboard. There is also the question of THOR / Q40 / Q60 users - and whether any of the options will work on those machines,...

Re: New Online Chat
I never used IRC before, and I liked the QL chat. It allows non-native speakers like me to understand English more easily than on the phone, especially when there is local accent. There is the typing work of course, but in comparison to forum posts or email, with relaxed spelling, and the option to ...

Re: C cross compiler
I'm using both qdos-gcc and two different (XT)C68 crosscompilers under Cygwin. It's a matter of taste whether one wants Cygwin, but I can live with it. Please note that I found bugs in some string related macros compiled by qdos-gcc, so (XT)C68 is the slower, but more reliable solution. I also wrote...

Re: UQLX with BDI / QL-SD support
I have no idea where or when Richard will release it. The best is, you contact him directly.
Or if you are okay with my inofficial snapshot, please feel free to contact me by personal message. It only works on 32-bit Linux though.

Re: SDHC adaptors...
I have had some feedback from Simon Goodwin on this I just wrote a long reply, but when I sent it, the forum logged me out! Now everything is lost, and I have no time to type it all again. Just three quick remarks: At the moment, QL-SD owners can request the source code by email. Public rele...

Re: SDHC adaptors...
Great job, many thanks! :D The massive problems under Qemulator sound unfamiliar to me. Is it possible that you run the free Qemulator version only and are therefore more limited in RAM than on your QL setup? In this case, it makes sense to reduce BDI image size (to reduce RAM consumption by the dri...
