Re: Unboxing Video & Quick Test Sandy SuperQboard

He downloaded the manual.

It fills me with so much joy that after all these years, bits of Sandy kit are still being shared around the world and bringing people joy.

It's really made my weekend.

Re: Beyond Super Gold Card

The entirety of my comment comes from one simple fact: the available 68k cores for use in FPGAs that are cycle-accurate and complete enough to run QL operating systems are limited to 68000 implementations, with no instruction or data cache and no 32-bit external accesses. It seems using an external ...

Re: Beyond Super Gold Card

Getting back on topic.... Is there a possibility to use a physical CPU (eg: 68EC030 or 040?) with the non-68000 parts of the Q68 FPGA core? This would use a stock CPU, and the FPGA's graphics/IO capability. I imagine the main thing that would change after eliminating the 68K core would be some provi...

Re: QL-VGA

As far as I know, there isn't a version of the 8301 ULA that actually implements this. It was obviously planned but may never have been implemented. Actually I tried "POKE hex('18063'),64" on my German issue 6 or something QL and the display gets weird and the poll frequency changes to 60...

Re: PSU Question - Better safe than sorry

The QL PSU has a transformer and is unswitched, so the live/neutral matter is moot and it really does not matter which way it is wired. It is a double insulated power supply, so no ground.

The 240V PSU will work without issue on 210V to 270V, 50-60Hz.

Re: Happy Birthday!

It must be remembered that America was the first country so large that the month a message was sent was important data - until the 1920s, it took 6-8 weeks for messages to pass from coast to coast. I know Americans like to think so. However, Russia, Canada and China are bigger. I guess Russia is so...
