Re: Q60

The Shuttle case I have came from a faulty XPC. I was in the process of fitting Compact Flash interfaces.

There has been a company near Warrington, UK, on Ebay selling complete XPC Shuttles for £20.

Re: QXL to QL emu transfer

Hi, The serial ports on a QL can be connected via a standard Null Modem lead and the extension called SIMSER loaded. This adds Serial Port extensions STX/SRX which allows connection to other SMSQ/E machines via Sernet. On a QL only SER1, SER2 can reliably operate on Sernet at 9600 Baud, raising the ...

Re: Q60

Hi Peter, I built a Q60 into a XPC Shuttle Case, which the mATX board was nearly the same dimensions as the Q60 board. This allowed a single floppy disk drive, CDROM Drive and maybe SD Card Readers at the front. I did not really push this as a product, as it may of being said I was copying the MAC C...

Re: Hardware Manual?

Hi,

The QL Service Manual was originally published in a Black Card outer covers, there is copies of the manual in non-black covers.

I do not think that there is much a copyright issue now.

But the manuals do not take into accounts the errors Tony Firshman found and detailed on his web site.

Re: Wanted: Q60 or a QXL board

Hi, The only files available to the Altera Chips in the QXL, Super/Gold Cards are in JEDEC format. I have looked for a JEDEC decompiler or disassembler. The only think I found was OPALjr, which has a JED2EQN.exe programme, available from: http://www.brouhaha.com/~eric/retrocomputing/mmi/palasm I nev...

Re: The humongous Sandy Electronics thread...

I have the same problem in UK, the Post Office want to know what is in the parcel.

Recently I sold a mobile phone and had to say the battery was not included, otherwise the postal insurance would cancelled.

Re: Wanted: Q60 or a QXL board

I would still buy a QL2 and finish the QXL Cards. But, the problem with the QXL/Super/Gold Cards is the Altera programming of the Glue Chip. I found someone on Ebay in the USA, who had all the Master Programming Adapters, bu no ISA interface card to the PC, all for the price of $299 + shipping. So I...

Re: Deleting directories in SMS.....

Hi,

When used to have a working QXL, I found that it would run OK on a 286 & 386, but on a 486 and above was the best, assuming that you can find a PC Pentium Class CPU motherboard with ISA slots these days.
