Re: GBS-8220 RGB TO VGA Converter

Hi Detlef, Thank you for the information, I will add this to my QL Hardware file. I like to keep all references to QL Hardware mods. I have a GBS-8220 and have fitted it into an old 4 port multi SCART switch box, with the input via a SCART connector and the output wired directly to the GBS-8220. Thi...

Re: Best way to identify a QL (with out opening case)?

On SMSQ/E:
VER$(-2) : Returns Start of System Variables.
VER$(0) : Returns HBA
VER$(1) : Returns SMSQ/E version

On anything other than SMSQ/E, VER$(0) or VER$() or VER$ give the QL Rom version.

Re: GBS-8220 RGB TO VGA Converter

Hi Detlef,

I thought the display on your QL at Edinburgh was excellent.

Can you post a diagram of the connections from QL to GBS8220.

So that everyone can use this interface correctly.

Re: QPC1 in a DosBox on Android

Welcome to the forum - I guess you need to know how to get software onto QPC1 really - I use QPC2, but have never had QPC1, so can't help there.... I connected the PC serial ports up with a Null Modem lead and use SerNET to transfer files from other QL, QPC2, Q60 etc... Otherwise it has to be QL fo...

Re: JS ROM creation

Hi, Both sockets are electrical the same, so a single eprom large enough to take the rom image. I would use Minerva, rather than JS. Because the graphics are faster, there is multi-tasking basic, most of the bugs in the rom have been removed, selectable second screen available on power up, Better 12...

Re: QPC1 in a DosBox on Android

I have only had QPC1 running on a 486 PC, it runs OK, but only emulates a standard QL: 512x256 4/8 colours. It does not have the DOS device to read DOS partitions. But it is worth looking at. I have an old 486 laptop, which I may put QPC1 on it. With regards to Forth, there are many good implementat...

Re: Reading old 5"1/4 flopies

Hi,

If you have the 5 1/4" drive correctly connected to the PC, why not get QPC2, which should read the QL floppy disks.

QPC2 is now free and the best QL emulator for running under Windows or Linux with Wine

Hi Rich,

I have managed to convert the available HQX files to ZIP archives and emailed them to you.

Re: QDOS native TCP/IP demonstration at QLis30

Hi Peter, I have 7 x AT Midi Tower Cases left over from the Q60 Production... I will bring the Power Supply from the Case for you. I have installed Apache/PHP/MySQL on my Linux Laptop, which could be used as a web server, I do not have the experience to setup a localised web server, but it is one of...
