Re: Welsh Meters

Hi, Does this mean I have Welsh ancestors ? Styv Pwll. Common mistake - y in Welsh is not generally pronounced like i or e in English, the sound is more like "uhh" (with silent h). So more likely Stif Pwll (single f in Welsh pronounced like v in English, while double f (ff) like f in Engl...

BMP 1.04

Thanks to Bob Spelten, an update of the BMP graphics converter is now available from the Graphics page on my website. Version 1.04 fixes a problem with conversion of Mode 33 images on Q68 (and probably Q40/Q60 too), which could result in incorrect colour conversion due to incorrect interpretation of...

Re: Q-dock

I got overtaken by events trying to look at this, sorry. The code for picking a job within Q-Dock is basically just a compiled PTOP statement, with the job name passed in a string array element: ch% = 0 : PTOP #ch%,jobname$(dock_no%,icon_no%) As I am having difficulty reproducing the problem, can yo...

Re: Welsh Meters

When I was travelling to Wales long time ago, I was very astonished, that there were at least city names with just a few letters, e.g. "B A N G O R" :D :D Not so sure about short city names, Ralf, but here are some Welsh place names with no (English) vowels in them: Bwlch Bryn Crymych Cwm...

Re: Welsh Meters

Secret attempt of Welsh world domination Well, having successfully infiltrated Welsh into the electricity meters of England, not all Welsh attempts at new things are as successful. For example, this first Welsh attempt at getting into space was not exactly successful: diljump.jpg More successful wa...

Re: SCREEN1 = SYSVAR @ JSROM

If you can define a shape as a blob, theres an inbuilt routine to fill it with any colour or texture, in any mode. I dont know what limitations the routine has re size, memory or efficiency, but it might be worth investigating. May be of interest - Silvester on here wrote a piece of code for SMSQ/E...

Re: Q-dock

Q-dock is a great program. I got it with the Q68. And yes here is the "but" has anyone else noticed that with a job name of only 2 characters i.e "QD" the Q-dock launcher moves the pointer to the right insead of launching QD. Make the job name "QD+" and everything work...

Re: Cursor Sprites

Hi Dilwyn, I tried your Caps programme on the Q68 and SMSQ/E v3.34, worked really well. Just had to execute the SBAIC programme, pressing the CAPS Lock changed the cutsor to a flashing Red C Also the sprite collection to be used with the CURSPRLOAD command worked great on the Q68. Thanks Derek. Goo...

Re: Announcing availability of a QLNET driver for the Q68 (ND-Q68)

On this Father's Day (in the UK, anyway), I am pleased to announce the availability of driver software that allows you to finally network the Q68 with other QL-compatible machines via the standard QLNET ports. The ready-to-run driver as well as the source code are attached below and I'll call upon ...
