Re: Floppy Disk Drive Options?

I have a box of old cases and old drives - Derek - do you want to see if you can put some together to make a set or two?

I also have one bare ED disk drive!

Re: Random QL glitch: no video signal and refuses to boot

I have come across a similar issue a couple of times in the past. One was resolved by replacing the voltage regulator - not sure why. The other was on a QL fitted with a Super Gold Card. It worked great for a while and then would stop - turn it off and wait 20 minutes - then it worked again. I decid...

Re: Productivity in the QL

I tend to use my QL as a quick means of testing and reverse engineering printer codes for the Retro-Printer. One customer was amazed that when they sent me some captured output from an unknown (non-standard) printer, I could write something in SuperBASIC to convert the codes to get a graphical displ...

Re: Reverse Engineering

Steve Poole wrote I seem to recall that the rights belonged to Alan Sugar Trading ? I think that Amstrad, who had the rights, were sold to BSkyB (Sky UK) around 2007 so it might be Sky who now possess the rights to QDOS and the Sinclair hardware. Cheers The design rights to the SInclair hardware ex...

Re: The Investronica Starmouse from Spain

Thanks for the information - did Investronica produce anything else for the QL?

I certainly don't remember seeing this advertised in the QL magazines back in the day - I fear that a lot of the international stuff has been lost over the years, where the UK QL'ers were not aware of it.

Re: P.I. Cole - noir detective game

I really like the look of this - I always enjoyed playing adventure games more than any other genre.

It harks back to the various experiments which Alan Pemberton did in his adventures (Voyage of the Beano, and Starplod)..

Re: 198? - A cyberpunk ACT text adventure Release thread & Download!

It would probably be better to use the sub device (or similar) and supply this with the adventure, so that it can be easily configured for sub-directories etc... Could the home extension be used? I have never tried it... The other answer is to have a quick configuration routine which pokes the devic...
