Re: SBASIC 'ls' command

(one thing I still can't do in SBASIC is finding out how many lines will fit into a window, there's afaik still no SB equivalent to SD.CHENQ). The Turbo TK Demos file has a function called Basic_ATTR1 which can find the base of window definition blocks. From there, the window height and character h...

Re: Bible Code helpline request

Hi all, He didn't actually say "Bible" - he said "Bibble". There is a Bibble download advertised on the web, its something to do with photography. After carefully reading his email, I would guess that Mr Legge has only recently acquired a new PC, probably a new Windows 10 machine...

Re: SBASIC & C++

Hi folks, I’ve been working with Steve for a few months now on the TSP program. Much has been achieved in this time. Values are stored in arrays, rather than keep computing them again each time around the loop. A new way of storing the nodes has been found – that is they are not stored anywhere! Ins...

Re: qlayw and Turbo Basic

Hi Greg, Derek, The bad parameter error is from the EXEC command, which is not recognising PARSER_TASK as an executable file. You could try using the SEXEC command to re save these files as executable files. So, do something along these lines ... COPY PARSER_TASK TO PARSER_TASK_old lenf = FLEN(\PARS...

Re: SBASIC & C++

Hi Steve,

I certainly would be interested in having a look at your program. Does one have to be a member of Quanta?

Re: SBASIC & C++

No, not RENAME - that command is used to rename filenames.

Instead, use ... REPLACE oldvar, newvar
You will have to LRESPR the DIY VolR_REPLACE_code beforehand, of course.

Re: SBASIC & C++

Hi, I have written a superbasic extension program that allows you to rename variables throughout a program as it is loaded and run. It copies itself into Data lines which it then works on. But this ends up making the name table unstable, so I have not used it for some time. The solution would appea...

Re: Floating Point Numbers

Hi,
It's in Volume 01 Issue 6_en. RANDOMISE DATE is described as a "waste of time" :lol: This works on the most significant 16 bits - which doesn't vary often enough to be effective.

Re: Not ROM but speed

As for timing, the DATE function is based on units of 1/50th second, so this is why it is good for use on timing code on any machine. 100 D=DATE: if D<>DATE: d=DATE: else GOTO 100 110 REMark sets the clock ticking. 115 REM inner_program 120 PRINT DATE-D!'seconds' As the returned value is only accur...
