Re: Fun things to do with an MC68EC020....

Some great information in this thread. Thank you. Some other 68k CPU systems use a shadow (or part shadow) of the ROM at CPU address 0 and address 4. After reset, the CPU reads the ROM at address 0 and address 4, then the logic disables the shadow of the ROM at these addresses and maps RAM there ins...

Re: Micro peripherals Drive controler?

What is the maximum number of drives that are supported?
If the answer is more than two then it must use a Shugart interface.

Re: search for details on powerregulator upgrade

Now, I've not yet tried any of these yet, but on some other machines (e.g. Spectrums and ZX81's) some people have fitted switch mode converters like Traco DC-DC Converters TSR-1 Series 1 A or RECOM R-78Bxx-1.0 DC/DC-Converters.

Re: SOLVED !! 3.5 " floppy connection to qdisc interface

The fault with the Speccy could be a internal power circuit fault. The circuitry in the Spectrum 16k and 48k versions need +5V, -5V and +12V supplies. A 7805 voltage regulator generates the +5V. A two transistor inverter circuit generates the -5V and the +12V supplies. The loss of the +12V supply is...

Re: New Disk Drive Interfaces? No, we want a dual SD card IF

Rather than thinking about Z80 based devices, I think it would be better to see if an open source 68000 device could be adapted. Now, 68000 systems use a 16 bit data bus unlike a 68008 system like the QL. However, the 68008 can execute most 68000 code. Now the port on an Atari ST used for hard disk ...

Re: Raspberry Pi - A commercial use?

I like this idea :D On the connection to retro machines, it would be most widely compatible if it had both a RS232 serial port and a Centronics ( IEEE1284 ) parallel port for input. As well as converting incoming data, it could act as a printer buffer as well. No more waiting for your retro machine ...

Re: QL-SD card project

An ideal use would be having a zip file full of QL tools and programs for new users which a pc can extract to the SD card already for use. This is an excellent idea :D When (or is it if?) QL-SD card systems become available, I would be very interested. I would buy at least one, likely two an...
