Re: Q68 netwrok port hardware

I have built the adaptor using the 1N5819 and it does not work :-(

Q68 did not explode and is still working great. :-)

Will need to investigate.

Re: Q68 netwrok port hardware

However although I ask specifically for a BAT43 diode, I just realize the clerk gave me 1N5819 diodes instead. Equivalent parts ? My problem with the 1N5819 is that I find no specification for the speed yet. The BAT43 is a relatively fast (5 ns) small signal schottky diode, whereas the 1N5819 is a ...

Re: Q68 netwrok port hardware

Hi, I have built many Q68 QLNET adapters, using the BAT43 diodes, which the QLNET connection worked first time. I can only suggest either replace the 1N5819 with the correct BAT43 diode or try the 1N5819 diode, it may work, but no guarantees. Not working is one thing, but damaging the Q68 is anothe...

Q68 netwrok port hardware

Today I decided to built the hardware needed to equip my Q68 with QL network ports. I had procured the parts many weeks ago from a local shop. However although I ask specifically for a BAT43 diode, I just realize the clerk gave me 1N5819 diodes instead. Equivalent parts ? When I look at the specs, t...

Re: Q68 pads for reset button

Hi Francois, If you fit a switch, what are you wanting to do? I fitted a reset switch on the first 9 production Q68 PCBs, but the fitting of a reset switch will not reset the Q68. So removed the switch from the parts list. Well I installed the switch and it indeed reset the Q68 when I press it. Sam...

Re: Q68 pads for reset button

OK, a closer look at the PCB shows that the two pads near the keyboard connector are indeed the ones. F. Hi, On the Q68, there are 4 pads to install a reset button. In the user manual, it is stated that the switches should be hooked to the upper to pads however it is not clear what are the upper pad...

Q68 pads for reset button

Hi, On the Q68, there are 4 pads to install a reset button. In the user manual, it is stated that the switches should be hooked to the upper to pads however it is not clear what are the upper pads and the lower pads. Are the upper pads the ones closer to the keyboard connector and the lower ones are...

Re: Trying to fix my dead QL help needed

Hi,

To conclude on this, I have received a new ZX8301 ULA and, as expected, it solved the problem.

Next on the list is trying to fix my Golcard that behave strangly at boot time. This is a complexe problem so I will start a new thread.

Re: Trying to fix my dead QL help needed

That does sound like your ZX8301 chip may be faulty - it is responsible for video output, address decoding, ram refresh and access, and providing the cpuclock. Do you have another one you could swap it with? No I don't have any other 8301. Will order one from SellMyRetro ASAP Is there anything else...
