Re: I hate BREXIT !
Sorry Derek, we're not being punished, we are merely being treated as a 3rd country. You can blame our own Government for this over the years: The British government pushed for and defined the terms for 3rd countries when trading with the EU when those rules were defined. The British government has ...

Re: Gotek + Flashfloppy: How-to.
For information, the FlashFloppy Github site has an example for QL ED disks: ## IMG.CFG for Sinclair QL ED Disks (3.2MB) # NOTE: The tags match on filesize alone. If you wish to define an explicit # tagname match, you can for example add 'ql' to the square-bracketed tags # to limit matches to filena...

Most likely the PSU. The caps go in them, as do the opto isolators. Exxos have a recapping kit available.Derek_Stewart wrote:The Atari TT030 developed a fault, which does not switch on. I will get around to fixing someday, probably power supply fault or a chip has done down.

Re: Native QL?
You could potentially create a "just-in-time" compiler which interprets the 68000 op codes and translates them into the native processor instructions and replaces calls the hardware or ROM with function calls. Similar to the way Java VMs speed up bytecode. This would generally be for allow...

Re: QL SD v2
Good afternoon.
The QL-SDv2 isn't yet available.
If you are trying to replace the Microdrive function then a vDriveQL with the addition of a vMap unit is what you will need.

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Kickstarter 2 just launched
I cancelled the funding, due having to over 10 months after paying for the computer. Not a good way to do business. Ah, well, that's the point, you're not "buying" the computer, you are investing in a proposal for a project with the contracted reward for the investment at the end of its t...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Kickstarter 2 just launched
When I get mine I'll try to do a review of it running the QL core, if it's of interest to anyone. It's not due til August 2021, so don't hold your breaths though :) (and KS1 had loads of delays, so who knows when KS2 will actually deliver) Most of those delays were design problems with the keyboard...

ARTice: Did anyone ever pay for the floppy modified version?
At the end of the ARTice MANUAL_doc it says: Converting to floppy disc use. The simplest method ia to use the toolkit command FLP_USE MDV to emulate microdrives or to use a convert utility which converts every occurrence of MDV to FLP etc. A conversion to flp or fdk on 3.5 in disc will be available ...

It probably just overclocked the CPU a bit.
