Re: QLiberator decompiler

I sometimes enter this forum for fun, after more than 25 years without a QL or compatible system in house. Then I stumble across this post about decompiling my Disk Mate 5. That sounds great! I hope you will post news about it if it is done, or possible at all. Lovely to hear the software is still ...

Re: Kempston Disk Interface issue

Hi, The QL I picked up recently had a Kempston disk Interface fitted and although it works when I plug in either a 3.5” Drive or a Gotek the picture on the TV starts skipping. I am using a RGB SCART lead from Retrocomputershack. If I unplug the floppy cable the skipping/jumping stops. I have replac...

Re: MDV Dump

In the MDI driver http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/utils/MDIdriver108.zip there is a program (SuperBASIC with a shot M/C routine to do the actual reading) that will read all the sectors on a Microdrive cartridge (good bad or indifferent) to convert it into an image file. There are also facilities to examine ...

Re: Psion Software with Gold Card

I did this many years ago http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/psions/Psion_Mod.zip Here's the description from Dilwyn's site Psion Enhancements Psion_Mod.zip - Psion Enhancements v1.03 Modifies the Psion suite, Versions 2.30 and 2.35/6 to give you the following improvements - You can now use the second screen (...

Re: QLiberator decompiler

I don't think the QLib runtime module has anything to do with externals. I think the externals are handled by the _OBJ file itself. I had a very quick look at your assembler code, where you are examining the name table entries with A3 and A5. This is the routine I was thinking about for converting a...

Re: QLiberator decompiler

I know how to decompile a compiled SuperBASIC program. But I don't know a great deal about how QLiberator actually works. To use a name with a Procedure, you could use the same method as the operating system. It looks at the name table entry, If it finds a 'name' it converts it into a string. It doe...

Re: Help with Composite out

I would say that if you want a clean, crisp colour display from a QL. Forget about the colour composite signal entirely. And use the RGB signals converted to whatever you need. I have not tried to connect a QL to a modern LCD TV. But I was wondering, if you put the TV into the 4:3 aspect ratio mode,...

Re: Today I Received...

In my note book I have a drawing of a SCART cable I made many years ago QL-------------------- SCART pin 2 ---------------- pins 5,9,13 pin 7 ---- 330R ---- pin 15 pin 6 ---- 330R ---- pin 11 pin 8 ---- 330R ---- pin 7 pin 4 ---- 330R ---- pin 16 pin 4 ---- 470R ---- pin 20 Yes, pin 4 is used twice.

Re: Random QL glitch: no video signal and refuses to boot

If you think it's a temperature issue. Get a tin of freezer, and when the QL locks up. Open the lid, give a few things a squirt of freezer, and see if it will then reboot.

If it does, then it's a case of trial and error to isolate the area of the problem.

Re: Help with Composite out

In the first picture. Does the monitor/TV have a 'colour' control to turn the intensity of the colours up and down. If so does the patterning disappear or vary? This would indicate that the patterning is caused by the TV trying to 'decode' the colour signal, but having problems, and producing the pa...
