Re: What Editor is best to use ?

The Qemulator I have downloaded (and registered) did not have any utility included in the package. Where can I download it ? Hi Andrew, it should be in the installation folder, for example (on Windows): C:\Program Files (x86)\Q-emuLator\QL Software\FileUtil\WinToQL_exe Use Q-emulator to copy it to ...

Re: 8301

Thank you for the explanation, and for this great series of posts about the ZX8301! I see the RAM writes being consistently slow, not just in "limit cases". I think the following trace shows that writes take 5 cycles instead of 4 even when not colliding with a screen refresh: write5.png Th...

Re: What Editor is best to use ?

Is there a command in Q-Emulator not to add a QDOS header? In general this is not necessary, any header conversions are automatically performed when copying the files from within Q-emulator, for example when using the COPY or WCOPY commands. As Rich mentioned, headers are added to native Windows/Ma...

Re: 8301

Something related to the ZX8301 that I found surprising is that writing to RAM on the QL seems to take one cycle longer than reading from RAM (according to the CPU user manual, both should be able to take as little as 4 cycles in the ideal case). Might be related to DS being asserted one cycle later...

Re: Cross-Chase

Ciao Fabrizio,

as XorA says, you need to use the -v option to map a host computer directory containing your sources to a directory inside the docker container where gcc will find your sources.

Re: Q-emuLator 1.3 for Mac - floppies not recognised

Hi Sparrowhawk, since Q-emuLator for OS X was released, Apple has tightened raw access to floppy disks. See http://qemulator.blogspot.com/2014/02/os-x-floppy-disk-access.html for some advice, although the exact procedure varies depending on the version of OS X (for example, you may need to switch to...

SMSQ/E sources - mirror git repository

I've downloaded all the old public versions of the SMSQ/E sources that are available on the official SMSQ/E web site and added them to GitHub: https://github.com/CodeDreamer/SMSQE This makes it easier to compare the sources for different versions. I hope that the official sources can also move to so...

The current Q-emuLator for Mac requires OS X version 10.5 or later.
