Re: Q40/Q60

There is a problem with the Q60 VGA video output, which does not give a clear video output in 1024x512 HiColour mode, on a modern LCD monitor This is such a tragedy. At design time, it was simply not foreseeable that flatscreen monitors would no longer have multisync capabilities. I have spent coun...

Re: ql+ prototype rebuild ? possible

I will need the help from you on the forum to do so ( ql emulator on a pi , and a way to get the keyboard connected to that pi , software etc, etc. ) Have you considered QLbase? https://qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=52483#p52483 It can connect to a Q68 or (more easily) a Qzero and provides a QL matr...

Re: Q40/Q60

The old QLs are nice, but Q60 is a step from the past to the present, without abandoning the QL "soul". Is this still valid today, where Q68 and derivatives also implement a lot of modernization? The main differences to a Q60 are CPU and graphics speed of course. Reaching 68060 speed by F...

Re: Anouncement for the 40th Anniversary of the Sinclair QL in Dormagen (Germany)

Do I have to book directly for a room and parking with the hotel, and may I do it early ? Yes and yes. Don't forget to mention "Computertreffen". Also it would be nice to send a message to QLObi. meaning NOW to be sure to have a room, but also, is it absolutely sure that the meeting will ...

Re: Most probably the smallest "QL" ever!

But maybe you can mention you upcoming really small QL? The Qzero is a tiny QL compatible computer, and even smaller than a Raspberry Pi Zero. It works for years already and some friends use it, I just hesitate to go for a public release. So I'm not sure that I can call the Qzero "upcoming&quo...

Re: Most probably the smallest "QL" ever!

The topic here seems "the smallest PC ever".
Obviously every Linux/Android/Windows box can run an emulator.
What is QL specific about all these boxes? We could as well search for the smallest Amiga, Atari 400 or ZX81.

Was there any QL compatible hardware mentioned at all?

This one made me smile. Always thought the original QL also needed an external display ;)

Re: RTC Query

If you simply want an NTP client for the Q68, there's a tiny one here: https://github.com/tofro/Q68NTP Cool. Which network driver do you use? Obviously won't help anyone who wants to set their QL clock :) Which brings up the QL ethernet question again - with a CP2200 the Q68 stuff could be mostly r...

Re: QIMSI

Indeed. I have been using that one for a long time, until I moved all my QLs to SMSQ/E. It basically behaves the same as the history device in the newer OS (some marginal differences that you need to get used to). Recommended. These are indeed "must haves" for non-SMS systems, as long as ...
