Re: QLTerminal v2.35 with TheOldNet WiFi v4

Hi Finally got the Simulant WiFi modem setup on the Q68. I configured the modem to connect at 9600 Baud. I used BAUD 9600 to set the serial port speed the same as the modem. Loaded up QTPI and dialled a couple of Internet BBSs: Retrocampus, Retrobbs all seemed to work okay. I downloaded a BBS list f...

Re: Q68 direct sector access

I keep on moaning at Wolfgang that the Q68 Config defaults are not as agreed. His settings are terrible, especially as the WIN8 configuration mechanism won't even work on some cards with the "fast" setting. Also the french keyboard is super weird to get reconfiguration started. And the lo...

Re: Advanced QL User Guide

Hi After some nice comments in the QL Assembler Magazine concerning the Advanced QL User Guide I have had no response from Adrian Dickens with regards to publication of his copyright book. The book has had many corrections to the original, which had a lot of problems. I will attempt another communic...

Re: Q68 direct sector access

Ive now switched off fast access. That might have had something to do with it? Yes! That overclocks the SD card and is an experimental feature that comes with a huge warning! It should never have become default on the SMSQ/E website, I keep warning people all the time. If you have that switched on,...

Re: ntsc sinclar ql schematics ??

The only changes to the US QL from the German QL are: US modulator/filters/xtal and modest component value changes around MC1377. A bodge board glued on the RAM from the clock crystal that passes the clock through two inverting gates to buffer and clean it up a bit. This gets the clock much closer ...

Re: Q68 direct sector access

Hi Per, I tried your programme, and it works perfectly on all of the QLWA files I have tried on SD Cards in Q68 Slot 1 and Slot 2. I had to add open#1,con when running from QD and SBASIC, but works well. Could this be added to SBASIC in a compiled procedure? Or maybe a EasyPTR programme to use a GUI...

Re: ntsc sinclar ql schematics ??

Hi,

I was updating the QL Service Manual, which details only Issue 5, 6 UK boards.

Is the USA and German QL circuit board require to be detailed.

The problem, I do not have either these QL boards, so it would be guesswork.

Re: Qzero performance update

Hi Peter,

The addition of Ethernet is not important, I use QLNET to connect to Q68 and other QL computers, with Martyn's QL Network software is a good solution.

I will see what Detlef is doing, he uses Freecad, which is one my interests.

Re: Q68 direct sector access

Hi Derek, that seems rather OTT. Use my routine instead of recreating the WIN drive any time you wish to alter the name. As you say, on Q68 you get to specify a sensible name when you format the disk, however, there is no (easy) way to change that name once its set - for now. Just trying to use exi...
