Re: Symmetric multiprocessing...

Hi Dave,

Sounds great, how about a expansion socket to plug a Raspberry PI in?

Re: Announcing availability of a QLNET driver for the Q68 (ND-Q68)

Hi Dave, I have not fitted any expansion port header to any Q68 boards so far. But I was going rectify this by fitting a male header, but as you suggest maybe female header this best like this: 464.jpg I was going to design a PCB for QL NET and I2C, but since you have done already, it makes sense to...

Re: Symmetric multiprocessing...

Hi Dave,

It seems to me that some hardware can replaced by an FPGA, could the CPUs be replaced by a multicore FPGA?

Re: Announcing availability of a QLNET driver for the Q68 (ND-Q68)

Hi Dave, Nice PCB, but a couple things I do not like. Front mounting Network sockets. The Front will look very cluttered, I would prefer these on the left hsnd side (looking from the front). New hole for the power switch, there are two Aluminium guide rails to drill through, which there is a risk of...

Re: Announcing availability of a QLNET driver for the Q68 (ND-Q68)

About the electronic add-on needed, it is not clear to me what the red lines in the PDF means i.e. what needs to be removed from the original schematic. But I am in no rush and I am sure everything will be clarify soon. I need to finish printing my Q68 laptop casing anyway. Hi Francois, The digram ...

Re: Symmetric multiprocessing...

Hi Dave,

You talk about a modified Minerva, which is an excellent operating system.

Why not use SMSQ/E?

Re: Symmetric multiprocessing...

Hi Dave,

I like both proposals, but could you detail the possible advantages of each system.

Is each CPU able to be programmed for separate tasks?

Re: FlashbackSE misbehaving on Q68

Hi,

I have been reading the updates file, is the Screen Save option in Flashback enabled, this may explain the QL screen present on executing the Flashback application.

Is it possible to disable the screen save function?

Hi, Here is a S*Basic implementation of the DIR comand, with no screen pause: 100 dir$="win1_" 110 ch=3 120 OPEN_DIR#ch,(dir$) 130 no_files=0 140 REPeat loop 150 IF EOF(#ch):EXIT loop 160 GET #ch\no_files*64+14,a$ 170 IF a$<>'': PRINT a$ 180 BGET #ch\no_files*64+64 190 no_files=no_files+1 ...
