RIP Sir Clive. A big chunk of the lives of many of us revolved around your products at one time or another.

Re: The QL UDG Playground

Indeed. And even if including a full Toolkit 2 is too much of an overhead, there are several free and smaller extensions out there which can do the equivalent of the CHAR_USE command.

Re: Elite on QL ?

I only gave half an answer on the Elite demo (I was away when I wrote the message) - I should also have mentioned that Derek's txtElite is available on the Games page on my site: http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/games/index.html Or download the zip file directly: http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/games/txtElite1-6.zip

Re: Speech Synthesis

Having mentioned saving and loading via network port, I finally remembered where I'd seen such extensions for the QL. I don't know if this would be of interest, bwinkel67? http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/demos/Charvel.zip Charvel.zip (136K) - holds the Charvel Soft demo disk, containing: Q-SPEC by Dave Hall...

Re: Elite on QL ?

Re: Forum weirdness?

Is anyone else seeing forum weirdness recently?‽ I normally pick up unread posts via the "new posts" link. Recently I had a mass listing of old posts which were definitely not new. They were at least a couple of months old. This morning I have three messages quoted according to my alerts,...

Re: The QL UDG Playground

Intriguing. So it can do the whole character set and all the foreign characters at the same time? When I get enough time, I'll see how my custom Minecraft font works with this. The characters are 4-5 pixels wide, so it'll fir, and I already have it as a PNG that can be easily hacked about in GIMP. ...

Re: QXL.WIN (the domain name).

Nice little site and a great idea to use the qxl.win name.

I like the fact you've used nice simple HTML to create an easy to use and good looking site.
