Re: Solid State Microdrive Cartridge?

So a small update on this. Just spoke to a colleague (a bit older than me) who, in the day, worked for Coleco helping design their version of the stringy floppy. He's going to look into some things I asked him regarding my plan and we may get together to test some things using my Spectrum and the sp...

Re: S3 Reset Switch replacement

The AliExpress link is to the user order page, not to a listing for switches. Can you post the correct switch?

Re: ntsc sinclar ql schematics ??

regarding the rgb output , will that still be the same as our uk versions ? The RGB is, yes. The one small difference is that the US QL's (as well as some other regions) don't seem to give a color composite signal on pin 1. Instead, it just outputs 5 volts. You can grab the composite off of the MC1...

That I don't know yet...It'll be a few weeks before it gets here.

Re: QL Pico VGA

Finally found the time to order a nice D-Sub hood for my miniaturized version. Type Conec 16-001810E. It has an optional side cable exit, the cable relief for it should be filed off a little. With the circuit fitted, it looks like this: qlminivga_case.jpg And the completed QL to VGA adaptor cable: ...

I'd be interested in 4 to the US. Would love to see if my external drive would read better on both my QL and Spectrum.

Re: Get yourself a bargain (not) - £800 for an untested QL

Anyone who buys off of AliExpress ever go 5 or 6 pages deep and find $5 items for like over $1,000? What is going on there? I had to replace a mini AV-to-VGA converter that you can get for about $4, and I was trying to fit things into a "$10 and get free shipping" window and kept looking f...

Re: PiStorm

I think that is the essential difference. Also the Amiga keyboard was more appreciated than the QL keyboard. I don't really like my Amiga 600 keyboard. The keys are so soft and mushy. Now true that the QL isn't better, though it is different. I think if the case design of the QL were more like the ...

Re: PiStorm

Of course, you could start out with just a 68000 emulation and virtual RAM as a test-bed and build up from there. Yeah, my idea, back when I was hoping to get my hands on a Pi Zero 2W but got denied by the high prices due to the pandemic, was to initially just see if one could replace the 68008 with...
