Re: QLTerminal v2.35 with TheOldNet WiFi v4

Hi, I finally got around to testing the firmware on my modem, it does indeed work , but without flow control (I guess they used different pins). I didn't get any issues connecting at 300 or 1200 to the BBS I connected to, I guess the suggestion above about certain BBS's having some limitations is mo...

Re: QLTerminal v2.35 with TheOldNet WiFi v4

Interestingly, I noted your firmware is for the 8266. The firmware I use is for the 8266 too, so in theory I could load it except I may have a different pinout for the flow control pins. when I get a few mins, I'll load up that firmware and give it a go. I'm just using one of these https://subethaso...

Re: QLTerminal v2.35 with TheOldNet WiFi v4

Hi, To simplify this, your 'wifimodem' isn't a modem in a traditional sense. it is a 'computer' that is connecting to the internet, this computer passes it's data via serial. I will call this computer B. the QL is computer A. in a traditional modem setup, computer B would be miles away and the speed...

Re: QLTerminal v2.35 with TheOldNet WiFi v4

the issue where you changed to 9600, then saved it, it seems to me , you did not then change the baud of the terminal too. this is why you then saw the output from the modem after hard resetting it, as I believe the modem will then default to 1200 Baud and the ONLY way you'd see the display on the s...

Re: QL <-> MOXA Nport 5150A and Internet! Surf on Telnet connected BBS

Derek, I have made a few of those. I found the 3.5 firmware not to work. I use the 3.4 and it works great. Another pitfall was finding a genuine MAX232. I bought some MAX232 based converters from china (thankfully socketed) and the MAX232 was running hot. I also got some random characters after a wh...

Re: ICL OPD

The tool you asked about is
https://github.com/Digitoxin1/DiskImageTool
I used this to sanity check my hex editing, however it has a 'boot sector' hex editor built in along with some other useful tools.

This is just showing what the settings are (hopefully). I copied as many settings as I could from the manual.

Re: ICL OPD

That's good to know that your image can be written ok. I assume dd would do a similar task? I'm not sure if Stephen updated his header program after he got the rom running? if he did not the header would need to be the same as the one in this pic. From what I understand from what Stephen was saying ...

Re: ICL OPD

I think Stephen might be the better person to answer, but the OPD format is not a straight DOS format. This is why the images Ideally are formatted with the modified C1OPD rom first. The rom writes a string as a header on the disk where DOS expects to see (it's) header information. By doing this DOS...
