Re: Oxford Trivia corrupt cart fix, Pascal?

Bit late to the game with this one. Just found a short review of Oxford Trivia in QL World June 1987. Attached, as scanned PDF. An advert in the same issue shows it being sold by TK Computerware for £18.00 Oxford-Trivia-Review.pdf Interesting. The ad mentions a further 16 question categories. My qu...

Re: Oxford Trivia corrupt cart fix, Pascal?

Based on Andrew's experiment, the two versions of the cartridge seem compatible as far as the copy protection goes. I should be able to merge them into a single working master copy. I'd love to know how that's done. Because we don't actually know what the copy check is checking for. Will you establ...

Re: Metacomco C Manual

Yes, I gathered. I mean that my actual book has different page numbers and so different content to the Spanish website photocopy scans, so that may be confusing. Not sure what the differences are. But I'm sure you can work out the differences. It's wrapped up and ready to go on Monday.

Re: Oxford Trivia corrupt cart fix, Pascal?

I've not been playing close attention, but is it possible that the executable reads the directory of the questions cartridge, looking for filenames to load? Thinking about those files which are not named "file1" etc. Apologies for the noise, if I'm way off base. Again! Cheers, Norm. I tho...

Send me you book and I will update the work so far through the Spanish scan of a photocopy.

I completed 60% of the manual.

I will. Could be confusing though, them being different editions with different page numbers. I'll see if I have your address somewhere.

I saw you advert on Ebay the board looks really good.

Maybe you coumd integrate the 8301 replacement on the same board...

That might be beyond my ability, but yes, I think something along those lines will be called for in the future, certainly when most of the original 8301's have failed.

Re: Oxford Trivia corrupt cart fix, Pascal?

Yes, that worked for me too! Sorry to have wasted your time Martin. I wonder how the other question categories (on my dump of my own questions cart) come in to play, or if my questions cart is from something else entirely! Instead of the RWAP questions cart I tried the same procedure with the questi...

Re: Oxford Trivia corrupt cart fix, Pascal?

No! I'm sure I tried that particular combination.

Right, having late lunch and will then give it a go.

Re: Metacomco C Manual

Hi I need some help from anyone with a QLC Manual, page 103 is not scanned too well. The problem is on Page 103: SCANF/FSCANF/SSCANF: Sysopsis: last line: Synopsis: n = scanf(cs,...ptrs...); n = fscanf(p,cs,...ptrs...); n = sscanf(ss, cs, ...ptrs...); int n; number of input items matched, or EOF Fi...

Re: Oxford Trivia corrupt cart fix, Pascal?

I wonder if the game cart only requires the bad 3 sectors of TRIV_3g_PEXE as reported by Cartridge Dr ($0A, $1A, $3B). Could the 2 missing ones be deliberate?
