I think that's the insulation thing that is normally pressed/glued against the RF shield that covers the ULA on mdv1_ (the other drive doesn't have one).

Today I received... this industrial ISA 486 Single Board Computer. I took a chance as the previous owner couldn't get it to display anything but fortunately was able to get it working very easily (by changing the RTC module and fiddling with the RAM socket connectors). I had it running a 486 DX4 100...

Both those Thors on ebay went for a lot (not to me)! £1,020 for the model in nicer cosmetic condition with the 2 FDDs and £675 for the single FDD model with signs of corrosion. That's more than I thought they'd go for.

My Murata 150115 regulator has been in my main QL (German model) for 5 years and has been fine, including for the use-case of dumping hundreds of original mdv carts.
