Re: Naive question about SCART connection on TV

Only that QubIDE uses media that end of lifed 15+ years ago Dear Dave, why you say this? If I'm not wrong, the QubIDE allows you to connect an HD IDE, there are still new ssd hd ide in production, and using an ide2CF adapter or a SD2IDE one, I can connect a CF/SD like an HD. Am I saying something w...

Re: Naive question about SCART connection on TV

There aren't currently any new QL-SD for sale, but there will be in a few weeks. The QL-SD 2 is prototyping now... Hello, I found one for sale on SellMyRetro, but I think I'll not buy it, for the following reasons: 1) It is too expensive (75.00 euros) 2) It is compatible only with SD in HC form 3) ...

Thanks

Re: RE: Re: Naive question about SCART connection on TV

You tell me what you plan to use your QL for, and I'll give you some pros and cons that relate to your situation. :D Dear Dave, I bought the QL because 34 years ago when it came out, I had a Spectrum (which I still use) and I could not afford a PC so expensive. I have always read so much about the ...

Re: Newbie - Disk interface

Either add-on will improve your QL considerably. One thing to bear in mind is expansion RAM. Without more RAM than the 128KB built in, storage interfaces will take some of that RAM for its own data structures and reduce even further the 128KB, especially if you configure several partitions on the s...

No. Your next purchase should be a QubIDE or QL-SD. Getting you using and saving data with the display you have will be more immediately rewarding. Also, it'll give you a good sense of what we've been through the last 34 years and help you understand some of the software design decisions. You're tr...

Newbie - Disk interface

Greetings to all, I open this topic to ask for your opinions on a disk interface for my QL. I have recently owned one of these units and wanted to provide it with a disk interface. My QL has the two microdrives that seem to work, but I don't have cartridge to test them. I understand, however, that t...
