Re: QL / PASCAL

If that were to happen, my guess is that, over time, SMSQmulator and possibly uQLx would soon offer 608020+ capability. Then the retro's could be left alone to do their thing with the tools that are already available (thats the whole point, right?) and the remainder could move on to pastures green....

Re: QL on the Raspberry Pi...?

the Pi5 is coming, Eben Upton said so recently. He's not giving much else away though. The major complaint about Pi4 is even though it has PCIe it doesn't support NVMe storage, so that is my prediction. Plus faster 64bit cores. The Rockchip devices I have which use NVMe as storage are really useful...

Re: QL on the Raspberry Pi...?

It wasnt the SMSq/e license that's the issue, its just with it being a slightly odd license I am loath to put in time for major new features especially if I was to cheat and use libraries to supply some/all of them! What's odd about the BSD licence? Edit: OK, I now think this is about the uQLx lice...

Re: QL on the Raspberry Pi...?

Althoigh the uQlx license is troublesome from a code integration point of view! Does it still contain that "maximum commercial copying fee must not exceed DM 10" clause? :? Anyway, I don't think SMSQ/E for UQLX would have to be part of the UQLX code covered by that license. Minerva and QD...

Not that hard, it has that big expansion slot on one side ;-)

Re: Sinclair QL (cross) development and emulation questions

Being completely new to the ql, I have a few more questions; how accurate is emulation of the ql (cycle accurate or not, are there certain areas of the hardware that are worse emulated than others)? Is there an emulator that has a debugger and/or memory/instructions viewer? I can answer for uQlx/sQ...

Re: Tetroid Disc Interface and Flp1_

If the cable is connected the wrong way around this will ground all the Floppy Disc control lines and you will see the Drive LED constantly illuminated. From experience, incorrect connection does not damage the Disc Drive or Disc Interface, it just does not work. Yes, and in my experience so many c...

Re: PiStorm

(I think there are Amiga folks that have the same concerns from comments I've read).

There has been a backlash against the Vampire FPGA for some of the same reasons too, its just not an Amiga is the common argument!
