Re: Zip to MDV

Yeah it was never in the C spec that you could guarantee the placement or alignment of structure members, people just learned to rely on behaviour from certain compilers. Modern compilers move the values to generate less instructions on modern wide bussed CPU's True, but I've never come across any ...

Re: Zip to MDV

Sounds like the usual problem I'm in the middle of fixing for qxltools. Structure field alignments. :( Yeah it was never in the C spec that you could guarantee the placement or alignment of structure members, people just learned to rely on behaviour from certain compilers. Re: US/German serial and joystick pinouts...

Whatever the wiring for joystick port, make sure it doesn't blow up like C64 when megadrive compatible pads are plugged in :-D

Re: US/German serial and joystick pinouts...

I would say destroy the secondaries market and wire the port as standard :-D The only reason I can see for the sinclair wiring is because of the way the d-sockets are shoehorned into the same wiring as the BT sockets. It would be a whole lot easier for newbs to source a standard 9 pin null modem cab...

I could make this available for download, but I am not sure who would host a 4Gb file.

Re: C++

...So any nonsense that 68000 cant handle C++ is exactly that! I'd be inclined to agree, I program AVR microcontrollers in C++ and they only have 32KB Flash RAM plus 2KB for variables etc. Ok, admittedly, I have to cross-compile from Linux->AVR but we could do that for the Ql as well I suppose. Plu...

Re: C++

I spent 2 years making good money writing C++ code for 68332 micro controller based devices.

So any nonsense that 68000 cant handle C++ is exactly that!

There are some modern 68000 C compilers, they just need a QL linker added, someone even started work on one of them in the forum!

Re: QDOS-GCC How to run the binaries?

So this is where the include/library files should end up after running the perl script (which is buggy as hell and I cant remember the fixes). ls -lR /usr/local/qdos/ /usr/local/qdos/: total 12 drwxr-xr-x 2 graeme graeme 4096 Feb 19 2017 bin drwxr-xr-x 5 graeme graeme 4096 Feb 19 2017 include drwxr-...

Also, if my rusted memory is right, QDOS unzip also recognizes the xtcc record. Then, suprisingly, just zipping on PC side and unzipping on QL side also does the job.

yes you need -O1 or -O2 on pc side as an option. i forget which.
