Re: QL Tinkering

Hi All, QBITS PIXEL Art Project Update My aim was to produce a RETRO Game making Prog and for this set myself four Stages. Some of my aspirations on reflection were let’s say a little too adventurous for my limited Coding skills. However, for this release: Stage One code for the Sprite Generator has...

Re: New QL fonts

Hi Mark, Thanks for posting your PETSET_chr. I assume you added a Byte to the 8 Byte 8x8 matrix used by Commadore. Using QBITS FTidy I reviewed in hex your file PETSET_chr the two Byte header read as 00 – FF ie Start at 0 with 255 characters and 2305 bytes in length not your 963Bytes (is this the Co...

Re: QL Tinkering

Hi all, QBITS PIXELArt Project Behind this latest coding is the review of 1980’s Retro Games being the background to developing this project. First the use of screen Tiles, in may Games these perform several different functions. As a solid for walls or platforms, then as a flooring where a Sprite mo...

Re: My rare old QL version AH

Hi Badaman, Thanks for sharing this with us… Quirky doesn’t come close to describing your QL oddity, the keyboard a revolution in space management. The monitor I guess around 7”. The 5¼ floppies I had some experience with them back in the day. Have you any idea of when it was built, assume a German ...

Re: QL Games

Hi, QL World provided the opportunity to explore a lot of software. I started with Luner Lander which I think had some specific BBQL machine code. As for SuperBASIC one I liked was Duel by R.Kingslake and then there was Qthello by Richard Green. Early progs such as Golf prompted me to write my own a...

Re: QL Games

Hi, Andrew I to had problems comprehending how to develop games from Franks's Sprite Generator. Hence the inspiration to recreate some of these early Games and go beyond with QBITS PIXEL Art, but that has some way to go and I am no way as good at programming as Frank. QBITS [Expand Your Horizons wit...
