Re: Derek - Q68

Another happy Q68 owner! Just when I was starting to think that my place in the Q68 batch 2 queue had somehow slipped, Derek contacted me to let me know that "my number had come up" and within two working days, my well-packaged Q68 had been delivered by UPS. Sod's Law dictated that when it...

Re: 68060 based QL system?

I love my Q60 and like Derek I would like the Q60 to be able to display on flat screen monitors or HDMI TVs. What I already have is an alternative video chip design, which creates a 1024x768 signal that many (probably not all) flatscreen monitors correctly recognize. It is currently used by W.L. an...

Re: QL-SD news

Some news regarding my work with and on the QL-SD interface. https://www.kilgus.net/2018/03/29/ql-sd-news/ You can comment here, there, via eMail, carrier pigeon, whatever you like. Cheers, Marcel Hi, Marcel. Good work! Please put me down for two units (one for a 640KB QL, the other for a SGC QL). ...

Re: Whatever happened to ?

Been thinking about the people I used to bump into and chat a lot to at various QL Events. Lau Reeves (Last I heard he was at Port Isaac in Cornwall) Gerard Phelan (Always chatted at Microfairs at the old Horticultural Halls in London) John Hall (Seemed to always be at Workshops) Stuart Honeyball (...

Re: QL 34th Anniversary new hardware.

Noted. However, look at the Q68 dongle thread in the Hardware section as I am already working on version two of the dongle, which will be quite improved. I don't mean to Osborne myself, but it will have substantial improvements in utility for only a small increase in cost. Thanks, but a V1 dongle w...

Re: QL 34th Anniversary new hardware.

I assembled ten dongles. I will make eight available and be keeping two for myself. People who post here can reserve one. Hi, Dave I was sure I'd stated my interest in a dongle... but apparently not, so please add one to my shopping basket :) Current contents: 1x Miniplane 1x Minerva 1x Serial WiFi...

Re: Enable Caps Lock from SuperBASIC

After all, why should I want/need the same CAPS state in, say, QTPI and Text87? That's not what I said. I want the CAPS lock state that I know I have set . And don't want it modified by an application. Apparently, there's a little LED set in my head that's getting out of sync when applications chan...

Re: Enable Caps Lock from SuperBASIC

On a multi-tasking machine that only has one caps lock state, I would actually consider it bad behavior of an application to hog the Caps Lock state I know it's not what we're used to but, ignoring for a moment the problems it would, no doubt, cause for the maintainers of "hosted" systems...

Re: Q68 serial port

I used QPTI on both the C68 and SGC+Hermes QL. Communication speed was 19200 Bauds. I used the ZMODEM protocol. Overall it went very well. But with the zmodem protocol, the receiver (Q68) needs to send feedback to the sender (QL) after every block acknowledging that it was received correctly. These...

Re: Behaviour of SER_BUFF in QPC & SMSQ/E

My question is how the SER_BUFF port, ouput_size[,input_size] interacts with the default 81 byte buffer(s) that the standard QDOS SERial port driver creates at open-time. The QPC Keywords manual describes the SER_BUFF command, but doesn't make reference to the 81-byte buffer of old-school QDOS. I b...
