Yes and this with an 8-bit bus vs 16 bit of Gold card but speed is not everything.
I'll try to make a batch after more testing to every QL I can find.

Re: FPGA replacment for the ZX8301 ULA and more
Hi Yes there are totally useless pins and one nc pin I think, so if one wishes he could use them, also the wires are not needed for issue 6 and 7 boards. I like it protruding but maybe a bit less, I make pcb's fast because as you have noticed I change the specs and features constantly :D ( I hope fo...

Re: FPGA replacment for the ZX8301 ULA and more
Thank you
I forgot to mention it is now running at 16Mhz and I intend to add a fast serial port SER3.

Re: FPGA replacment for the ZX8301 ULA and more
As Peter and one's complement suggested an expansion card board is ready and it solves many problems. It also needs two wires and a small board over zx8301 socket but it is so much easier to install and no need for 3d printed plate for the ports. I also changed fpga to the newer cyclone 10 LP that I...

Re: FPGA replacment for the ZX8301 ULA and more
It started as 2 separate boards but then I made a single board to eliminate the cables, that was ok in my ql with the changed sockets. It was when I tested it to another QL I realized the height problem :( I didn't tied the unused inputs to a fixed voltage because their outputs are always disabled (...

Re: FPGA replacment for the ZX8301 ULA and more
thanks for the idea, we will see.
First I'll test the short pins tetroid suggested.

Re: FPGA replacment for the ZX8301 ULA and more
I'll think about how it could be adapted to use the expansion port when I find some time, I am busy with some other things these days.
Worst case I could simply use few cables to the socket or something.
