For my own stuff, yes. But this is a straight Eagle import of a proven design that I offer for free, so probably didn't bother.

Re: Hermes status

There is also https://www.kilgus.net/ql/eprommer-ii/. KiCad sources already included. But all must be heavily adapted for the 8749 to work.

Re: PIC for 8049

No, currently there are no sources. Tony Firshman checked and reports that he does not have the sources and Lau didn't respond to my last enquiry anymore :| Maybe it would help if other people asked, too, or maybe not, no idea.

No, there is none. I linked to a DIY one somewhere here, but that's a quite a lot of work and money, too, of course.

Re: New Sockets For Old

Pretty all my QLs are Samsung builds and they used two cheap 24-pins sockets to host the CPU.

Re: QemuLator

Works for me, although just in a weird fullscreen mode that messes up my desktop, I see nothing in window mode. Apart from that, which resolution did you choose? Remember that the aurora can only handle 512x480 in 256 colour mode.

Re: ULA1 nextgen idea...

Sandy Munro happens to think otherwise. But what would he know about tech or cars anyway ? That's irrelevant, I'm speaking about the poor engineering teams that have to deal with a meddling owner. Far too many micro managers out there. Well, reminds me of a great story about Bill Gates: https://www...

Re: QL emulation on Linux - is there anything mainstream ?

Best native solution is probably https://github.com/SinclairQL/sQLux

Apart from that people run QPC with WINE or SMSQmulator with the JRE.

Re: QXL.WIN (the domain name).

It's all cluster based, so even worst case you can still read 8 or 16 sectors at once. But yeah, it's all speculation anyway, I don't intend to implement it ;)

Re: QXL.WIN (the domain name).

It needs a few more milliseconds to read in the fat, but during actual operation it's just one additional table lookup per sector, which pales compared to the time it takes to actually read or write said sector. I don't think you could measure the difference.
