Re: Issue with QL-SD and SGC

Yeah, that cannot work as-is. QL-SD must be able to disable the ROM, which is one of the reasons some legs are bent. What you see is the ROM switcher and QL-SD fighting for the data bus. You'd need to route the enable signal that comes out of one of the pins on the right side of QL-SD to the switche...

Re: QED version 2.03 released!

That's interesting... I've done a quick test on a BBQL with GC and SMSQ/E, and the KBD_TABLE 33 command seems to have no effect on the keyboard layout (unlike on QPC2). Maybe it's the outdated version on the GC (3.31); Yeah, I fixed that sometime last year. Hasn't made it in the version history it ...

I know. It was not. I could be a millionaire if QPC could do such a thing.

Re: QL / PASCAL

That function is in a system extension (a "Thing") named the "HOME thing". This system extension is guaranteed to be present in SMSQ/E and a loadable extension in QDOS. Thanks. Looks like on the QL we have to make these optional somehow. I'd really prefer if FPC binaries would s...

Re: S/SuperBASIC Arrays

I don't have a QL, I ignore the Sbasic interpreter and I can't see the point of running SMSQE on a QL (I didn't realise a vanilla QL supported it) Well, it doesn't (yet). Currently you need one of the GoldCards. But QPC and all emulators are on-topic here, too, so I think you're taking the "Si...

Re: S/SuperBASIC Arrays

I know this is a QL forum and not an SMSQE forum and it is likely that my use of SMSQE at high resolutions is a minority interest but my problems with memory and buttons may be of interest to others, so should I post them here, keep quiet or start a new topic. SMSQ/E is a QL operating system, why s...

Re: QL / PASCAL

This, too, is a known side effect of the C runtime. QDOS does not buffer/delay writes to the screen.

Re: Joystick and keyboard input

Hmmm now I realize. Perhaps the disassembled listings are meant to be loaded in an actual native assembler which in turn shows it as text again, rather than saving it as ascii... All disassemblies are ASCII, not sure what you're referring to here. Original Minerva and SMSQ/E source code exists, too...

Re: I love QDOS, but...

The Spectrum had a software write protection. If the software crashed it could still delete data, which apparently was not only a theoretical problem. The QL has only a hardware write protection, the QL could only check if it's active by writing and checking if anything has changed. But it's difficu...
